this is an awesome thread...
ummm ... i didn't read it all so... hear i go..
global communication & reload (same two dudes)
biosphere and gas (which you already mentioned) i listen to substrata and pop respectively every odd night or so... and aphex twin's selected ambient works, vol.2 i listen to tetsuo inoue's world recorder every so often as well. umm... and then there are tons of artists...
TUU echospace porter ricks (biokenetic's is a great album to sleep to) the electric company (kinda fucked up though but resembles white noise at times) triola (and the burger/ink album Las Vegas featuring mike ink and jorge burger (AKA Gas AKA the Modernist, which is also good as well) the orbs UF-Orb album is AWESOME to go to sleep too, if you have difficulty sleeping like myself, it's a great environment to meditate in. as is their first album too...
uhhh... plastikman (formerly FUSE) makes some pretty dark but lightly textured tracks that are easy to sleep too... but mostly not exactly... pleasent or anything.
mouse on mars has an album called Instrumentals that have some awesome ambient music... here is a sample...
lull's Moments album is sure to help you fall asleep... that's for sure... um... future sounds of london can be calming... but only put on really really low volume.
there is a group called Loscil with an album called Submers, that is perfect silent music with a touch of experiementalism.
kit clayton... kinda minimal electronica like porter ricks.
Isan.. great for sleep... indie electronica like four tet or daedalus, but those guys are only good to sleep with on low low volume, unlike isan which is mostly quiet.
iresistable force is carl craig in disguise... he makes awesome ambient tunes under this moniker.
higher intelligence angency is relaxing and really quiet ambient dub electronica like the ORB.
Deep Space Network's big rooms is SUCH a trippy album, and relaxing... but it must again be played on lower volumes to relax to.
and uhh... Basic Channel.
yeah...

This one's pretty decent as well:
Netherworld - Aurora Performs Its Last Show
Drone is very hit or miss. Lot's of one note wonders that sound, basically, the same. But when it hits, wow! Gorgeous.
Oophoi is still top of the list as far as I've heard. Thanks for the Tuu. Got anything else, similar?

If you've heard 5 minutes, you've heard it all. It's a loop, right?
Love it.

Tribe is great. But, lots of hard hitting beats that would keep me awake for sure.
Probably, most here have heard of: http://bluemars.org/cryosleep.php
Always a good source for beatless tranquility.
Cliff Martinez - Will she come back? (5:01)
Perfect for sleep, or nodding off into other realms on a dissociative. String 3 or 4 hours of this together in Sony Acid and enjoy your voyage.
To each their own...
