Pleurotus ostreatus?  doing a spore print now but it looks like it will be white

Gills are attached and close.

Found growing out of a dead tree

No worries! Enjoy it man!!! Ive always wondered about heading up towards that area... I have a couple buddies up that way and every time I drive out there I see spots I wanna check but just never get around to it haha. Anyways congrats on your find man!! Maybe I'll see ya out there someday!!

just did man,  was very satisfying to be able to eat something I have found.  Now I am sitting here researching what the other mushrooms i brought home today might be.  I really need a field guide


It's amazing how much enjoyment I get out of hunting mushrooms  :laugh:
