I should have clarified the statement that I am a 61 year old who has used cannabis since I was 21 years old [40 years total]. I tend to use small amounts (2 to 4 tokes)5 to 7 days per week from a glass pipe. I would prefer, and encourage all other cannabis users, to use a vaporizer if possible. Unfortunately, the price for a good vaporizer is out of my budget for now. My lungs have always checked out normal but I don't smoke tobacco and I exercise moderately (bike, hiking, walking). Hope this resolves any misinterpretation.
Wow, that's really neat. Definitely good to hear from people like you; puts new light on the subject. Lots of people make claims about long term damage from smoking marijuana, and clearly there needs to be more studies on the subject.

be careful about getting lured into confirmation bias. you dont want weed to hurt peoples lungs so you look for information where it doesnt.
but the fact of the matter remains. smoke is bad for your lungs yo.
you can find cigarette smokers with near perfect lungs who have been smoking their entire life. does that mean cigs are as healthy as weed? no.
but yes lots more research needs to be done.

Well of course. I actually don't smoke weed anymore. What I mean to say is that obviously you aren't going to develop lung cancer 100% of the time if you smoke at the frequency he did. I just find it interesting because of the frequency he smokes at and for how long he's smoked. You would expect lung damage.
I just think research needs to be done. Of course all smoke is bad for your lungs, but the extent of the damage is what's debatable.
