a little bit, when i have some, but then i remember that too much acid will fuck with my head and it's best done on special occasions.  meditation helps with drug cravings in my experience.

Yeah the first thing alcohol affects is judgment. You have to get used to disciplining yourself, especially if your on the way to become an alcoholic. Moderation is key.

Maybe you should give it to one of your friends to hold on so your not tempted?

And you guys are lucky. I've been looking for acid for the longest time. I got to wait to Starscape festival June 4th. And its all I've been thinking about for the past couple months.

Yeah, I've struggled with whether or not I was addicted, obsessed, or using these drugs too much.  That's a tough call to make in part because I'm so smart that I can often fool myself.  It's so easy to make good excuses and believe them especially when they are reinforced by like-minded users on forums such as this.  Hell, access to too many psychedelics, too much free time, too few responsibilities and a great, safe place to trip can be like a gift from the devil.

There is some truth to the idea that these drugs have anti-addictive qualities though.  Eventually with repeated and consistent use your trips will become unbearable and you'll take a break.  It took me two years and a half years of weekly trips to reach that point though.  Unfortunately, I don't take any personal credit for the recent well needed vacation from psychedelics.  They just sort of stopped being fun and twelve hours locked in a mindset that isn't tickling my prick or giving me wacky thoughts is less interesting than sobriety.

I guess like every other choice in life, you weigh the competing desires out and the stronger desire always wins, right?  The frustrating part about this idea is that you don't choose which desire is strongest, it seems to win by its own power over the other desire.  Right now, sobriety is the stronger desire and I played no part in that decision process.  Its fucked up, right?

I guess it's just the natural order of psychedelics. They keep themselves from being abused (kind of). Intelligent design I guess

Yeah, bholzer, that's the best argument for Intelligent Design I've heard yet!  This is one for the science books.

Soon enough your addiction will fade off. Because it will eventually smack you on the head and tell you 'hey! it was fun till it lasted, now time for some punishing!' But as they say ''prevention's always better than cure''. So control it if you don't want to lose the 'magic'

:whathesaid: One day, it'll come back to you, and you'll probably swear it off for a while, until the time comes again.

It seems to be a pretty common thing in the psychedelic community.

What he said.  I got 40-50 hits of some awesome blotter planning to sell some and wound up tripping it all.  It sort of turned into one continuous trip and I started to want to see "what comes next" as I dove further into my mind.  Then one day I just sort of stepped back and realized that acid isn't meant to be used on a weekly basis, and that my trips were no longer anything like what they used to be.  I haven't tripped since, but know that the next time I get the chance I am going to go back into it with the proper mindset and respect the experience deserves and will have a fantastic time.  You can just get too used to it and take it for granted, and then you build a tolerance and justify it by saying "that isn't a tolerance, that is just me getting used to the effects" which is obviously false.  I actually feel pretty stupid, that little "acid binge" that lasted a couple months managed to fuck with me for months onward.
