That is his reason for not releasing the Bin Laden death photos.
I see. OK to kill Bin Laden and invade other countries and 'inadvertently' kill many tens of thousands of civilians.
But releasing an image is going too far on the moral highway.
OK...

If we release pictures, then the America wide mutual back patting festival based on the phrase "We Got Him" devolves into a lot of awkward, despondent pauses around the phrase "We killed a very old man on dialysis"
Vietnam, everyone was asking "What are we getting done over there?" so they started to release the numbers of dead enemies, and the bottom fell out of public opinion.
We want the war to kill bad people, but looking at it dead in the face is another thing.

also, releasing pictures of bodies with bullet holes in their face is generally a... hmmm.... well, it isnt classy.
not many people want to see that.
im sure that if the people who are running around asking for the picture actually got to see it most, of them would wish they hadn't.
bullets + face = not a pretty sight

There are some who are into the gore and revenge aspect. Others merely want confirmation. The US govt track record with truth is not exactly a shining beacon.

Yeah, I'm totally against Obama not releasing the photographs, but he does have a valid point. It would just feel so shitty if our government we're to release a photo of his mangled body/face. Other countries would view it as we are bragging about our "trophy," and that wouldn't sit well with me. They have already released photos and video footage of Americans dancing in the street at the news of his death, that's enough.
Based on all the personal testimonies I've seen on the news by people who have seen the pictures themselves, like the director of the CIA, Hillary Clinton, Obama himself...etc, as well as the fact that Obama has stated "We got him, the fact of the matter remains, he will not be seen walking this Earth again," is satisfactory for me.
At least to stop questioning so strongly. Considering the fact that they dumped his body in the ocean after 10 hours, I still think they should release the photos and videos or at least have them reviewed and examined by some sort of unbiased agency that monitors international affairs. I mean, come on, how bad does that look? Dumping bodies in the ocean where no one will ever find them is something the fucking mafia does
