Greetings Everyone! Somebody would like to make a larger batch of Spice. Would a Culligan water Jug work seeing that it is clear and allow for more accurate/easier seperation. One is wondering if any reaction or excess heat may melt or warp the water leaving one with quiet a large disaster!!
If anyone has any tips/techniques/advice on making 1000g of bark batch. Thanks!!

Wouldn't recommend it...I only use HDPE (#2) jugs. My Culligan jugs are #7 (stamped on bottom), and that means it could be any number of other plastic resins which may not hold up to solvents or heat. I wouldn't take the risk with my safety or health (or $ of raw materials) with it. I'd say stick with HDPE #2 or a 5 gallon glass carboy handled with care.

same here. water jugs give you a plasticy goop when you pull according to others who have used them. grab a bucket and use a ladle to do you pulls. Ladle it into a glass measuring cup then pour it off slow into a mason jar. Let the shit settle in mason jar one then pour off again into mason jar two to freeze it. no turkey basters or other slow shit needed

Thank you everyone. And argg, i am not quiet clear on how you do this process of decanting but it seems very probably. Are you saying that i ladle off the naptha and trying to avoid any of the base/bark solution if possible. Then pouring it into a glass measuring cup to see if there is any base left in. If there is then simply pour or decant just the top layer off?....Genius!!

yep. Some black lye water will stick to the ladle but it will stick to the glass pretty good too so letting a bit come over at first then pouring it off works great. Just let it sit in the glass dish for a half hour or so. Let it sit longer if the solvent is dark and it will let solids settle too taking care of that problem if there is one. Just pout the lye water and tiny bit of solvent left back in the bucket for the next run.
