Dry Vermiculate Lair Covering Method
    #1439869 - 04/08/03 05:49 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

I've read in a couple places about a method created by the late Psilocybe Fanaticus which is to leave a lair of dry vermiculate on top of your jarred cakes to keep out contaminants. I've heard that that way you can just punch your holes in your jars and you don't even have to worry about taping the holes. That's what I did and I have 8 of my original 12 jars in my growing chamber and looking healthy, but no shroom growth yet. I was just wondering if anyone else here has tried this method or heard about its effectiveness.
