    #14397952 - 05/04/11 01:21 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

im tired of getting rusty lids every time i PC spawn bags (i stack the lids in the bottom of the PC)... i understand that the plastic lids are autoclaveable, has anyone tried letting them touch the bottom of their PC? i feel like that might not be the greatest idea but i dont want to have to buy new lids every time i PC

You buy new lids every time... to put in the bottom of your PC?

Dude, where do you live that there are no ceramic plates?
And no metal trivets?
And no thrift stores that have ceramic plates and metal trivets?

I'm still confused. You buy new lids because of rust? Why not wash the lids?

and this is my first grow so i havent needed to buy new lids yet but figured i would try something easier next time like plastic lids which are easier to clean, instead of scrubbing the shit out of rusty metal ones every time

I hate the rusty lids too. I find that if I dry off the lids when I'm finished with the PC, they don't rust so much (and I dry out the PC too). I think rusty lids are just one of those things you have to accept till something better comes along. It seems that plastic lids work for some people while others dislike them. If you decide to try the plastic lids on the bottom, try wrapping them in aluminum foil so they don't melt to your PC.
I don't feel that anyone was giving you a hard time. Its hard to interpret what others have written (the emoticons help though)

Good Luck

Oh, you can find the racks online, probably on eBay too. A local hardware store may have them in stock or order them for you to avoid the shipping fees.

Just leave them rusty.  Rust doesn't hurt anything.  It looks crappy, but who gives a shit?  As long as they still have enough structural integrity to hold up the jars, they're fine.

Geezus, I've been using the same batch of 20 lids on the bottom of my PC over and over again for a decade now.  They look like hell but still keep the jars and/or bags off the bottom.

This. They invented the device for this purposes.
Invented a new name for it because it was a new device.

Trivet. Use one.
