Accidental PE? Or poor growing environment?

The veils on these B+ have torn, they look healthy, but the caps haven't opened at all.
Does this look genetic, or environmental? This tray was fruited in open air (RH in my house at the moment is ~70%), temps were in the high 60s, and unlike all my other attempts, I didn't over-mist this one.

This is the second flush. The first flush (fruited in PMP and probably over-misted) is seen here:

Only the first pic is current - the second and third are of the first flush from this tray.
On the majority of the ones from the first flush, the veils had torn and fallen away days earlier.

If the sub is too wet, they look like this. I would stop misting for a while.

what kinda sub is that and how big is it? looks like they need air to me... what are you doin for fae? first flush looks a bit moist.. but mighta been just right with more air.. i always kinda judge by the cap.. you can tell when things are just right moisture wise.. you want as much open air as you can get without drying out the sub and fruit..

From your opening statement: Quote:
This tray was fruited in open air
. Unless the air in your apartment has rh of close to 100%, they'll dry up like this.

It's just a crumbled B+ 1/2 pint cake cased with 50/50+
The cakes had sat in the FC for a month and had done nothing so I figured it couldn't hurt to give breaking them up and casing a shot.
So it's a symptom of being too dry? or the casing layer too moist? FAE shouldn't be an issue as they're sitting on an open shelf in my living room.
Ambient RH is 70-80%, and I've been misting them 4-5 times a day when the last mist has dried off them.
