After listening to Joe Rogan enough you realize that it is a bit like talking to the drunk guy at the end of the party. You at first were interested until you started just hearing things repeated and then realized that one though never seemed to cohesively flow into another.
That said I agree with all of his shit.

Nothing he says is unique, it's a mix of Terrence McKenna & Bill Hicks

I listened to his radio show twice and it wasn't too bad... I also thought it was cool he risked his career being open about DMT. Was it a wreckless and stupid way of spreading the good word? Yes!!! But it worked VERY well... probably millions of people have listened to or heard about that clip

So being, or being interpreted as, egotistical negates the logic in ones reasoning?

Pretty much, yes.
If he'd stop being an egomanical freak, he'd be able to spread his message much further.
That goes for both Joe and Marc.

I think he could be a good resource for getting at least a little information into the hands of a wider audience. He may go about it in a different way than I would but if he's opening minds and spreading the word that drugs are not evil I can't hate the guy.

i love joe rogan!
i was forced to go watch his stand up routine with my parents in newport, RI once; it turned out to be very entertaining and then i found him on myspace and stumbled upon his interview about DMT. i had never heard of this substance but i knew then and there that it was for me and i needed to have the experience at some point in the future.
if not him, then who? i commend him for being in his position and having the balls to stand up and say he advocates the use of psychedelic drugs.

this basically expresses how i feel in a way more eloquent manner.

His comedy is banal.
Good for the movement? I think so, he does more good than harm in taking this shit mainstream IMO.
As long as he isn't doing standup he's cool in my book.

joe rogan is pretty cool. i admire his courage in being outspoken about such things like dmt and cannabis legalization. i'm always glad to see shit like this hit the mainstream in a responsible way. true his ideas aren't completely unique but to me he seems just like an average guy who likes to express to other people how he sees the world in all its fuckedupness - at standup is a good outlet to to this imo

Not particularly.
Some of his statements are factually inaccurate, for example the whole "DMT is released when you die" bit.
