colonization lag?
    #14396444 - 05/03/11 07:55 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

I have had 7 jars of Burma type incubating for quite some time now (about 6 weeks). Unfortunately the mycelium seems to be at a stand still. Only 2 jars are really showing some progress of growth. Still it is very slow.

1 theory i have: I was a bit over excited to see if anything was growing in the jars so I checked them often (once a day). I noticed that the sides of the container I was storing them in had water on the sides. Which leads me to think I evaporated all the water out of the jars at this point.

2nd theory: This particular strand has not shown to be a ropey texture like the video i watched (Mushroom Growing made easy), it is more of a fuzzy texture.

Does the fuzzy texture just take a long time to colonize or have I done something wrong?

Also I am tempted to add water. If this is a good idea how much?

thanx

Dont add water

The moisture on the side of the jars is more than likely mycelium piss (this ia natural)

Smell the jars.  Is there any funky smell coming from them?  Also post pics
