Myc vs Contam battle

Again. Sorry I have no pics. I'm don't know why I am unable to upload pics from my camera. They upload into my gallery just fine. But, I just can't attach them in my posts. It says the file is not able to be uploaded. Anyway. I have a cool scenario. I have a monotub pinning that has a very fine green/grey contam in one corner (looks like strands of fiberglass insulation (very fine)). The tub is a couple quarts of WBS spawn to manure/straw, with a thin layer of CC/verm on top. The contam started in the top layer of CC/verm. All I did was pick out the contam the best I could. I dug down to the strong growing myc. A day later the contam was growing right on top of the myc.. A couple days after that it looks like the myc is over-growing the contam. Has anyone seen myc win out over a contam.?

If you can see the color "green" already with your naked eye, then your looking at hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of spores ready to contaminate not only your project but your whole house!
Take that shit outside now!
Some would say burn it, but I would just take it outside away from your immediate vicinity.

Check it out. The myc really appears to be winning. Where I exposed the myc (while digging off the contam), there appears to be no more contam. The myc had a green/grey growth on it. But, not now! And the myc that was covered is now pinning! The contam just appears to be traveling across the surface of the cc/verm, very slowly. I have in the past isolated small areas of contam in my tubs by: When I notice the area of contam (surface growth) I take a large plastic cup ("solo" picnic cups) cover the contam and press the cup all the way to the bottom of the tub so it kinda' contains the contam. It works 50% of the time. The tub continues to fruit around the isolated contam. I have managed to salvage a few tubs this way. It's always worth a try as opposed to trashing the entire tub. As far as this tub. The myc appears being able to overtake the contam. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Sry man mycelium never wins. Ur best bet is not to only remove the contaminated part , but inches from where it is an hope that none of the contaminated spores fall onto the healthy parts even then, u need to makes sure no contaminates are still where they were, From the spots u removed them from. then only might it have a chance. Mycelium will recover from the damaged. Sounds like u did good tho. Go with it. May the force be with you.
