best way to store sterilized jars before inoculation?

I was just wondering if its dangerous for me to sterilize the jars a couple days before inoculation. Is it acceptable to just put the jars back in the box from which they came, will this up my chances of contamination? thanks

I think that sterilized jars store fine for as long as you want as long as they're sealed. I autoclaved my jars on a Friday and innoculated them on Monday with them currently colonizing well. Just make sure you give your jars adequate time to cool before innoculating as to not kill the spores that you're injecting.

They'll dry out eventually, but with taped holes, they'll be good for several weeks at least.

I waited a month one time before shooting spores in there and had no problems.
