Found some pretty cool mushrooms today near a creek that ran between houses in the middle of suburbia. None active, though some ive never seen before. Photos arent the best, the only camera i have at the moment is an iphone, so yeah, did the best i could
Okay first one:

These were so brightly coloured the camera couldnt adjust the colours properly. They were extremely bright red, with bright yellow gills (they look pinkish in the photo). Older caps were wavy. They were growing from leaf litter, about 2m from a creek. There was only a small patch of about 3-4 clusters, spread around a 2ft square area. Largest cap was maybe 2.5-3cm across. My guess is a hygrocybe maybe?
Second:

Growing directly from a rotting stick, 1m or so from the ground. Again right next to a creek. Bright yellow all over. Gills im not sure, didnt pick it. Spiky/bumpy texture all over cap, quite distinctive. Only 1 specimen.
Last one:

Growing in large clusters from a rotting log. Bright orange - photos make them look a little redder than they actually were. Gills were yellow, look white in the photo. Older specimens had really dark brown stypes, younger ones were yellow. Edges of older caps upturned.
Hope thats enough info. Didnt take any home with me, so no spore prints. Didnt really want to pick those red ones anyway, they were easily the coolest mushroom ive seen on my hunts.

1) Hygrocybe cf. miniata 2) Cystoderma or Flammulaster (check spore print color) 3) Looks a little like Gymnopilus but more like Xeromphalina, but maybe something else.
Post 2 and 3 on mushroomobserver.org.

Thanks for the quick reply as always
My first thought for number 3 was a Gymnopilus sp. too but when i looked closer i was pretty sure they werent. Looks like the Xeromphalina sp.
Just signed up to MO now, will post them as soon as i get the acc verified.

Great finds! and nice photos considering they're from a phone
The white gills on no 3 make me think Tricholomopsis too

Johnny, was that nearby creek fresh water or salt water? Or lightly salted water? Just wondering

I thought 2 might be Phaeomarasmius erinaceus.

Dazza - Creek was definitely fresh water, fed by stormwater drains.
Yeah number 2 is most definitely Cyptotrama asprata.
Finally got my MO account verified, but my desktops videocard has died and the photos are only on that pc. Will have them up in the next few days, ill post a link to the observation in this thread.
