Wow!! Amazing photos!! Lord Mayo for PM! Great observation on the rehydration too man. I was wondering whether the pins would recover after drying out considerably last week. Def going back to check the babies on the weekend.

Beautiful photos...are you using a macro lens ?
That's really interesting about them being able to rehydrate.

I'm using a 18-50mm lens and cropping the photo after. It's not a true macro but it can get quite close.

Gday everyone!
As you can see this is my first post here! I have spent since the end of last year browsing this forum trying to gain as much info as I could for this season. And its all paid off, im still a nooby hunter but Ive had a few successful hunts so far. So I thought id join up and get more involved after watching this Melbourne thread!
Hopefully the next few days brings some more rain I had a look around today while working and found only some pins and some very sad looking old subs. I recon I have been around spots some of you guys hunt in too since im close to the Ringwood area. Anyways enough ranting!
Cheers

They look fine, just keep them in open space with a fan going, or sun dry them.

Parked the car today and while I was walking to the boot of the car I noticed these guys kickin it, right near the boot. First find of the season. Was a good parking spot.
Also took a photo of a mushroom growing out the back, thought it looked cool. Psycho4ctive posted what looks like the same thing. My friend said they look like tubes and then the sides spring up.

Went to re-check out my old spot that got covered with new woodchip.
Turns out one of the best fruiting areas was missed completely by the new chips so:

And some inactives:
Was totally unprepared and came to the conclusion that I need:- a new camera
- a heap of mushroom bags from Coles (used the old empty coffee cup to get them home)
- some scissors (to silence the scissor-worshippers, although I never disturb the mycel so I don't really see the difference.)
- a new desiccant setup.
PS: They don't look nearly as juicy as mayo's lot.
