Colonization Pics (Confirmation Required)

These are two BRF jars that I inoculated a couple weeks ago. Temp has been low and moisture has been high in the jars but a milky substance has coated everything in the jars. Is this the first signs of my mycelium? Also the jars smell like strawberries for some reason.

When did you inoculate them and did you inoculate against the glass? That verm looks soaked tbh.. I think you should inoculate more jars if you have any spores left over and this time use a bit less water.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but those look just like my first jars... WAY overfilled. Unfortunately the substrate in there is just far too packed to be much good. You want something a lot less looser and airy.
When you use BRF/verm to mix up PF sub, you really do want it to end up with granules of verm coated with BRF. When you load the jars, spoon it in a lot more lightly and make sure you don't get it compressed. When you're done, you want to still be able to see pockets of space between the BRF coated verm granules. The mycelium needs somewhere to exist, right?

I inoculated a couple weeks ago and I did inoculate against the glass but I used way too much solution. I have another strain in a syringe but I only wanted to use that one once this one either failed or succeeded.

Its pretty hard to see anything with the printed jelly jars, and the glare/low pic quality. I see a lot of white so thats good

Yeah man that doesn't seem good. I would keep it for another couple of weeks just in case the mycellium make a breakthrough but inoculate yourself some more jars. When you mix the verm and water, take a bit into your hand and squeeze it. If it pushes out a lot of water and your hand has runny water on it, it's too much. You got it man. This is why the moment renews itself; so we can learn and move on.
Good luck to you. My first time I inoculated the first jar with like 3-4 cc's of solution but it still colonized fine. Your downside was the tightly packed substrate and the excess moisture.

i think that white is soaked brf. do you see any white spots? like a round spot that of just white?

Actually yes, I've been looking at some of the whiter spots with a homemade microscope and I see some fibers and what looks like cellular consolidating hyphae. As I said it's hard to say lol since I don't know what I'm talking about but, the jars did not look like this on day one.
Thanks for the words of encouragement man, I appreciate it

Nice. I see now that little white spot in pic one. I thought it was a glare or something at first glance. I wouldn't think removing the coffee filter at this point is a good idea since you will open the lid and risk contams but if you are in no hurry just keep an eye on it. Give it love and if you can do some meditations near it. They enjoy good vibes like any other being in this universe.

Don't go straight to the butthurt side, it's just the internet. And no, meditating or engaging in any other such acts of mudhairism will not help. And in case you already had the thoughts, forcing them to listen to Phish will impress them even less than it impresses respectable women. However, it should be noted that forcing them to listen to the Dead would be even worse.
