no, remeber, we PASTEURIZE poo, we don't sterilize it. PCing is to kill endospores in grains.

edit: christ, your gonna sterilize it once the jars are made up. logical, eh?

You pasteurize poo,, not poo water.

which effectivel pasteurizes that water, doh! who cares? he's gonna sterilize the jars afterwards.

christ, too many threads, too many forums! i think i forgot to read the part where he's just gonna soak the poo in water and is not saving water from pasteurization. doh! for me! posting at two different forums all day long makes you forget what the hell you where talking about

ya not pasteurized poo just poo water to use in the jars, which are going to be sterilized anyways...I will let you know how it goes, I'll probably use the poowater for half the jars

Thanks for asking this Blade, my friend Chunk was wondering about doin this for his cakes. He just started boiling sliced potatos, straining them and using the spud2O in his cakes instead of plain distilled. 3 days after innoc in non-optimum temps (around 75*F) he has growth in 4 of 6 jars. He was thinking of trying poo2O for the next batch.
For the record are we talking cakes or jars of grain spawn?

I know most teks say pastuerize poo, but is it not possible to PC it also? Is there some negative effect to that? On Mycotopia there is a pan tek that advises to put the poo in with the other substrate and PC it.....saving a step.

You don't sterilize poo or straw because you actually want *some* beneficial microbial lifeforms. I think vatoloco put it best:

"with a pasteurized substrate, you have a contingent
of beneficial microbes and even some bacteria
all vying for a piece of the action.

while they're all battling for supremacy, each
keeping the other in check, the mycellium shows
up on the scene and macks them all."

Poop can be PC'ed with success... but your setup has to be spic and span...any little amount of nasties will fuck it all up!!!
