Bare hands, or gloved whatever, at this point whats it going to matter. Trich is everywhere, EVERYWHERE, that is why we take precautions when we need to.

So you dont mind throwing those spores all over your house, furniture, clothes, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom ? Thus possibly contaminating any future grows?
I had a similar cake that went south, i dunked it no pins what so ever eventually i started getting one, but also noticed the cake got a bit suspect i just threw it, that was my first and last time ever doing PF cakes.

this is my last time doing BRF cakes, and not because of what happened I have just moved on.
Its not that I dont care about spreading those spores, but the way I see it. It is absolutly impossible to try and eliminate these bad spores from a house hold enviroment and that is why I use a still air box and sterile procedues.
The fact that this cake which was consolidated should have been able to fight this off but couldnt is out of my control.
this blows, im gonna chuck this fucking cake now.

i hate to break it to you, whether you use sterile procedures or a still air box, if those spores of trich are present near your grow area, or on your clothes when you check your cakes/trays/whatever they land on the substrate and start growing

Trich has issues germinating on straight coir. Im not looking for the post but I have seen RR say that trich will not germinate on coir. It germinates off of the grain that is exposed. So if you do tubs with a covering of coir on top trich has no chance
I have run into every single contam possible my old house had so many mold and bacteria issue's it was almost impossible to grow anything. Only thing I could get to work was mono's with damion's coir tek

If you think of it, trich spores are everywhere. Just the simple fact that you got trich contamination proves this fact--it didn't magically manifest, it came from your home. If you leave the house and come home, they will be on your clothes. Probably every house has them, unless the house is hermetically sealed off from the outer world. While spreading them around will make future grows more difficult they were, and will always be there. Unless you do everything in a flow hood contams will always be in balance, to some degree, with myc. Hopefully procedures used will tip the odds of success in favor of myc.
