Ive got a question: If I decided to soak the pods in alcohol then let it evaporate off, I could smoke whats left over correct?
Just asking because ive been meaning to start a small outdoor garden but if somebody stumbles across a field of lanced poppies, its over for me

i have a Pictorial underneath this message about indoor and outdoor poppy growing, comment on it if you want!
Generally people won't recon with the poppies since they have little knowledge about it so you be fine unless that person is a drug lord or Morphine producer - then your pretty much fuked

Thanks! Also I forgot to mention that I was asking about soaking fresh pods in the previous post.
I've got another question for the OP (or anyone that would know really):
Does it matter what spectrum the lights are for the poppies to grow? for example: 2700K vs 5700K?

Yeah, unfortunately there's not a whole lot of info out there for growing poppies. Especially indoors. There is enough however, if you search hard for it. Thanks for the compliment buddy.

I use alternating daylight and warm fluoro bulbs and it seems to do the trick. I would be willing to bet that any fluoro bulbs would work fine. The more of them and the higher the wattage the better.

Definitely keep us updated, this looks promising...
I have heard in the past that Papaver somniferum's root system is a little too weak for hydro use, but it seems to be doing relatively fine in there. I guess we will see by how many flowers are produced. Either way, A+ for effort!

Poppies actually do quite well in hydro systems. This is my first attempt at hydro but I've seen a few documented threads that turned out fantastic. Everyone runs into problems along the way, but that is the case in any indoor poppy growing regardless of the medium. As long as the end results are good that's all that matters to me.

OK so i have some more pics. I wont be growing any more poppies for a while because i have a whole bunch of other ethno plant seeds to grow out and experience. It was a success but i don't think I'll grow poppies hydro anymore. I much prefer soil. From now on I'll keep the poppy growing outdoors where they prosper easily and without so much effort. I mainly wanted to prove to myself that they could be grown indoors successfully.

Well done!
Probably one of the better indoor threads around. Some decent sized plants with good pods.

Thank you pal. No, but if it could benefit anyone i'd be more than happy to do it. That's not a bad idea being that there's not a whole lot out there when it comes to indoor poppies. Thanks for the rep. my friend.
