Wow. Great thread. Please don't forget to update once you try the tea.
I plan on doing indoor poppies in a few months when I get a better place. I'm just beginning my research and I was wondering if you would mind sharing a few tips on the soil blend used in your pots.
Thanks again for the great thread and beautiful pics.

The soil is a 50/50 mix of pro-mix organic and Coast of Maine organic, the purple bag.

Hey man,
My outdoor harvest has not been as great this year. I might get on some indoor.
How much wattage of lighting do you use per amount of plants?
Would a regular grow bag of soil mixed with some sand work as a decent soil medium do you think?
Also what sort of pot size is required?
Thanks for the thread and pics BTW

I'm using 176wts. of fluoro. That soil would be fine i guess as long as it's fast draining. I used cactus soil and peat pellets for the seedlings, then planted them in pro-mix organic/coast of Maine 50/50 mix for their final pots. I used 2gal. pots and they seemed to be enough. What I've been hearing that could have some truth to it, is that the bigger the pot you use, the smaller the finished poppies end up. Just in case there's any truth to this(which i,ve heard from more than one source) I will never go more than 2gal. size pots.

I was going to start a new thread for this but it still falls under indoor poppies so i guess I'll just keep this thread going. Swim started a new grow in a sub-aeration system. The H&C's seeds were sprinkled directly onto the hydroton and 1half tsp. of GMB GH Flora was added to the 2gal res. Germination was fast- 2to3 days. Their moving along faster than swims last grow which is kind of exciting. All i have for ph is the drop tests which aren't incredibly accurate but i have 2 different ones, so hopefully between the two of them it will be accurate enough. I have a Hanna gro-check ph/tds/ec/temp monitor but i haven't used it in a year and I'm having trouble calibrating it. Looks like i need a new probe. Here are some pics rite after germ. and where their at now.

So here's an update on the hydro poppies. They are growing much faster than the last grow in soil. Faster than i expected. I know hydro is supposed to be quicker, but i didn't realize the difference would be like night and day. Things are going well but i did have 1 small problem that i quickly fixed. I had what looked like the start of a magnesium deficiency, so i started adding Cal-mag to R.O. water until it reached 125-175ppm and then added my 3 p art nutes.

Thanks pal. Three of the pots still have 3 poppies in them and the other 3 have 2. I cant bring myself to kill any more even though i know i should. I might try to pull it off with 2 in each pot.

Thanks Esekon. I'm going to try to train them toward the outsides of the system so i dont have to thin them out any more.

Much respect on the indoor poppies man! Ive been trying to find info on growing poppies indoors but so far i havent been able to find much!
Ive got a question: If I decided to soak the pods in alcohol then let it evaporate off, I could smoke whats left over correct?
Just asking because ive been meaning to start a small outdoor garden but if somebody stumbles across a field of lanced poppies, its over for me
