indoor poppies 1

Here's some pics of my friends indoor poppies. Most are hens and chicks, one is a giganteum, and one is unknown from a 7strain supermix. There being grown under a single reflector with 2- 2bulb t-5 flouro bars and 2 t-8 bulbs in the middle. Not a whole lot of light but it seems to be doing the trick.

Nice bloom! They're like little bonsai closet poppies.
How old are they and what kind of light schedule have you been using.

They are a little over 3mths. old. They were actually pretty large and full until right before flowering, when the lower leaves began dieing off. They are defenitly a Challenge indoors, but do-able none the less.

Sorry, forgot to answer your other question. They were started at 12-12 then switched to 18-6 at the appropriate time, then he switched them to 24-0 when he realized that they grow faster that way. Thanks for posting

Gigantieum I think. I got a super-mix w/ 7 strains that contain all three of those strains. From the looks of the flower and the overall size of the leaves when it was growing, I'd say it's a Gig. I'm sure I'll end up with a lot of seeds and if you want to trade I'm down.

Keep the trade talk to the marketplace or PM's please people.
Thanks sheepherder for the info. Everybody wants to grow them indoors but little info and grow logs are around for people to get ideas from. It's not the most productive way to grow them but it works and that's enough.

Indoors also provides you the opportunity to score them and collect sap safely. Not to mention the joy of having plants in your living quarters.

yea let us kno how the potency is of those. i think of floros not being strong wnough to muscle up a good %of alkaloids but i hope im wrong. there really hasnt been a lot of experimentation with indoor garnes, so its really cool to see one in action. whats the height of those plants man? ive always been an outdoor man, but ive always wanted to either start a few buckets indoors or have a little grow for the cold season indoors. if floros can do a decent job, then that would be a really cheap and easy way to have an extra garden for harvesting.
very cool man. excellent job

because that would make it better? you're not going against a spam filter suh. No vender info guys, and keep trade talk to PMs or designated forums. Rules like these tend to keep the shroomery running
that aside, really beautiful poppies. Its been awhile since Ive seen someone post pics of an indoor poppy grow.

We grew some last year and allowed them to dry out, after this we removed the seeds and soaked the pods in isopropyl alcohol for 24 hours,
The alcohol was evaporated and we yielded 1gram of pseudo opium from 100g of dried seedless pod material
Just a heads up for you guys ;-) as its way easier than scoring latex
It appears the iso unlike water doesn't bring out all the plant matter crap in the pods. making the result on par with actual opium and smokable in a the same fasion. It even tastes almost the same.
I'm unsure exactly which alkaloids are soluable in the iso - if anyone can elaborate please do

That's true man. I was amazed at how little info there is online, when it comes to growing poppies indoors. It's not the easiest plant to grow indoors but anyone with a green thumb and ambition can pull it off. That's how i look at it too, I will probably end up with 20-25 pods, not a whole lot but at least it's something. It looks like the majority will be on the smaller side but that's OK because i have no intention of bleeding them.

Can anyone tell me if the white stripes on the pods of this plant is part of it's natural process? They just showed up on both pods a couple days ago. They don't rub off and it doesn't look like disease or anything. There at 10dys. after petal drop off. Is there a certain strain that's known for having these markings?

Yeah, I don't think I'd get another mix again. I like knowing what I'm growing. I was just trying to get variety without spending a whole lot. I'm pretty sure i had all 8 strains in the beginning, but when they started the cabbage stage, I killed most of them off and only kept 9 total. 7 H&C and 2 unknown. I got a pack of H&C as well because i heard it's a great strain.
