Hello Good folks
A friend of mine is brewing a batch of Cambodian and Pan- Cyan liquid culture.
From my understanding he used for his mix: 1.5tea/1.5tea malt/dextrose per quart of water then using standard sterile method he injected 12cc from a syringe into each jar.
He was not sure if the stuff floating on the surface should be white and the liquid clear or does what he sees appear to be normal due to the malt color from the liquid culture medium.
first two images are Cam's last image is Pan
Have not tried to really smell it yet, due to not wanting to remove the tyvek covering

Now the question is, after 4 or 5 days do these results look normal?

I was hoping someone would give me their opinion on if they thought these looked normal or if they were probably contaminated.
I figured if I posted the images....surely someone would have at least giving a comment.
Anyone ????????????

Why did you use tea? Makes things really hard to see. Do you have those jars sitting in the fridge?
Doesn't necessarily look contaminated to me, but wait for an expert opinion, that is after you get flamed a bit for using LC.

thanks Please ignore that poll I put on there...did not realize that once I set that date so far away...i would not be able to view the results.
Good to hear that at least it might be ok to use.
I didn't consider when I added that Malt stuff...with it being so brown...it would make the solution harder to see the white in
The jars are sitting in a fridge that has been turned into an incubator at 81 degrees F

It's too dark to tell. You'll just have to shoot up some test jars I guess, or in my opinion, Start over.

geez i am no expert but the tea sure does make it hard to see. i recently threw away 4 LC because I suspected contamination, they just didnt look healthy to me. Its just hard to tell because of the color, the only solution is really to noc up a jar... make a small 1/4 or 1/2 pt BRF to test. I usually see results in about 3 to 4 days if the culture is healthy
