Jars have mushrooms already starting?

What does it mean when my inoculation jars have caps growing inside? They aren't fully colonized yet, but are looking really healthy. 12 jars and no contams. half the jars should be fully col. in about 2 weeks and the other half in about a month. Golden teachers and Hawaiian.

also you said how much longer they might take to fully colonize, but when did they germinate/how long have they been colonizing for already

Your pics are in your gallery, need to post links in the thread. l Looks like you've got some funky patches in the jars. I'd consider birthing them soon and washing away the uncolonized material. Use your thumb and cool running water.

funky as in contams? Everything is bleach white in the jars...I have been watching for discoloration...blues and greens. Should I be watching for white bact. growth as well? Not really sure how to tell the diff without a micrscope.
Jars were colonizing for 2 weeks before any growth. Inoculated jars the end of March.

Could be bacteria in the bad patches, if so it can probably be washed away. The fact there's pins means that whatever it isn't necessarily terminal.

I will wash and birth the ones with growth. Am I wanting to get as much of the uncolonized substrate washed off?

Yeah, wash away all uncolonized material, rub it with your thumb until you get down to good stuff. If there's interior contamination, the whole cake could be useless. Only one way to know.

Pinning while not 100% colonized is a bad sign. Usually contams.

not this.
i've had cakes start pinning at 75-80% and still finish colonizing and gave me 3 good flushes AFTER i picked the early birds.

The hell are you talking about? You think pinning while at 75-80% is good?
I never said the cakes would yield nothing. Its just generally you want 100% colonization before you start pinning...
I've seen a lot of grows go sour. Early pins because 1/2 the sub went rotten and the other 1/2 pinned.
Like Doc said you can wash away any contamed areas and try to fruit. I said usually contams. Not always. What the hell is your problem dude? Stop trolling already...
How many years have you been growing? In my experience and from what others say pins when you aren't colonized is a bad sign!

who said i'm trolling? you are the one jacking threads to tell people to do mono's and forcing that opinion on people. you sound like a glorified hack that has sat around for months reading post after post, but here's the thing:
I was on this website 6 years ago as a new grower i stayed here for a long time.
i disappeared for a year or so because of family and personal issues and was back on as a new member, starting my process back over and begining like everyone else.
i'm not trolling you, i'm not trolling anyone else, i just want you to know that the way you present your info is a little skewed.

No problem homie.
Anyhow early fruits don't mean everything is fucked. But early fruits means things aren't going as planned. I'm saying its a bad sign because it isn't normal fruiting. When i had fruits in jars without 100% colonization it was always because of contams (but other peoples experiences on the forum have varied).
I would take them out & clean off the uncolonized portion and fruit. Probably your best bet.

Man, trich is white till it starts to spore....from my experience. it does look a bit different but to the untrained eye you might not know what u really have.
maybe that part of the jar was just too compacted for it to get into? It thinks it's done? Theres lots of reasons it could be pinning.
I suggest making a seperate fruiting chamber, so that if it is contaminated, you don't spread those contaminants all over your normal area.
but thats just me i err on the side of caution alot.

Thanks for the input everyone. I am going to open some jars to see what's up. Will utelize a seperate fruiting chamber for the early ones to prevent contam.
So Trich starts off white? I do notice some "fuzzy" areas. Will take pics once I get the jars opened.
Once I rinse, should I still dunk and roll like normal (as RR does in the video)?

If you have a white LED flashlight, trich is a distinctly different color from cubensis mycelium.
