DMT and the Ego

Hello comrades, my question pertains to the effects of N,N-DMT on the ego. At higher doses, how does the drug impact your sense of self? I would like to know:
- During a DMT breakthrough experience are you able to recognize that YOU are having the experience?
- Or is your ego dissolved beyond the point of self recognition?

OH I hadn't thought of that! Thanks pal, question resolved.
Part of the purpose of these forums is that people with curiosities can learn about the effects of drugs before they try them for themselves. See it as a place where people can share knowledge. I can only assume that you haven't anything to contribute to this thread, or for some unknown reason you have chosen not to share your experience. Please correct me if I'm wrong; I would very much like to know about your experiences with high doses of DMT.

sorry, i cant exactly explain my dmt experiences well. its kind of one of those things you have to try to understand it, IMO. but when breaking through i feel like my ego is dissolved completely. and the dmt takes you wherever it feels like you should go.

The few times I've smoked DMT, it felt and had the visuals of being shot through space. You have no conscience, you're just along for the ride. That was my experience with DMT.

To me it is nothing short than coming face to face with the Godhead, and being able to perceive and realize the Chekinah and awaken the latent divinity residing with yourself. DMT to me is a form of divine communion, an akashic technology used to call Home through your soul.
Many times have I dissipated into the void and simply became while simultaneously witnessing.

on a high dose, loosing "me" is basically a guarantee
sometimes though on a breakthrough my normal thinking processes and sense of self remain relatively intact. Other times, a low dose can blow my sense of self and body completely away.. it seems highly variable, and there are also countless different variations of this 'ego loss'

A proper answer is "not at all." At all times (in moderate doses) you will know who you are, and where you are, and you will easily be able to recall that the change in reality is drug induced. You can even do math in your head during the trip - so long as you don't overdo it.
This is VERY different to moderate doses of say, a deliriant such as salvia, where it is virtually impossible to take into the experience, the knowledge of the CAUSE of the change in reality. I've NEVER been able to take into the actual experience the fact that I had smoked salvia and that the extreme dysphoria I was experiencing was due to that fact. DMT is completely different in that regard.
Hope this helps.

For me it doesn't shatter my ego straight up but then I kinda become one with hyperspace and at this point my ego is gone.
Imagine you're watching a television program about birds and then you are actually a bird flying around on the program... but you don't have the capacity to remember/care what it was like before you became the bird
That's how it feels to me.
