5 ID Requests

I made my first serious mushroom hunt on Saturday but I can't identify some of the ones I found. I did all of my hunting in Central Missouri, USA. It was after a week of constant rain with 1-2 days of sunlight before I went out. Pictures are at the bottom.

Mushroom 1:
Habitat:Next to a rotting log, near a wet seasonal creek in the woods.

Gills: White gills, not attached.

Stem: Approx. 1 inch in length, was whitish/gray, bruised reddish brown. About 2 mm in diameter, smooth.

Cap: White/tan. Approx. 1 inch in diameter. Flat in shape, I wouldn't say either concave or convex.

Spore print color: Awaiting spore prints

Bruising: Stem bruised reddish-brown, same on the cap.

Other information: Found with one other mushroom but the other looked like a squirrel or something had eaten most of the cap.

Mushroom 2:

Habitat: Found in dried cow dung in a pasture near the woods. Found in a group of a dozen or so.

Gills: Light tan gills, not attached. Bruised very dark brown, almost black.

Stem: Stem lengths ranged from only a couple of centimeters to around 2 inches, very thin in diameter, about 1-2 mm. Dark tan or brown in color, hollow.

Cap: 1-2 centimeters in diameter, convex, mostly rounded, maybe barely conical.

Spore print color: Awaiting the spore prints.

Bruising: The stem, cap, and gills bruised dark brown-black

Other information: They were all very small.

Mushroom 3:
Habitat: Growing on and around an old tree stump, in the woods.

Gills: Yellow-orange gills, not attached.

Stem: Approx. 3/4" long, dark orange, extremely thin, less than 1 mm in diameter.

Cap: About 2 mm in diameter, convex, orange.

Spore print color: These are so small that a spore print would be nearly impossible.

Bruising: Slightly brown.

Other information: Found in a group of several dozen. They were all extremely small. My guess guess on these are Omphalotus olearius that are still very small.

Mushroom 4:
Habitat: Found in the forest, growing randomly by itself, not near any rotten logs or cow dung or anything. It was under leaves, I just happened to move the leaves to find it. I'm sure this isn't a psychoactive mushroom, I was just curious what kind it is.

Gills: No gills.

Stem: 1/2" or so long, tan/brown, solid. 2-3 mm in diameter.

Cap: Approx. 1 cm in diameter, dark brown in color. It is concave and bowl-shaped.

Spore print color: I wouldn't even know how to do a spore print for this mushroom.

Bruising: No major bruising, the cap may have gotten slightly darker, but that's it.

Mushroom 5:
Habitat: Cow dung, in the middle of a pasture, not near any woods. The area was flooded about 5-6 days before. They were growing in a group of 6.

Gills: They are dark brown, almost black now. I picked them hours ago though and didn't have a chance to look at the gills so I think they were lighter brown than they are now. Gills aren't attached.

Stem: 1-2 inches long depending on the individual mushroom. Tan in color. Approx. 2 mm in diameter.

Cap: Ranges from 3/4"-1 1/4" in diameter. Light brown and convex. There is some cracking on the caps that you can see in the picture but I think it's just because of sunlight exposure. The caps are also damaged because I (stupidly) had them in my pocket.

Spore print color: Awaiting spore print.

Bruising: The gills bruised to black. The stem had brown bruising. No major bruising on the cap.

Other information: No scent

1) Gymnopus dryophilus
2) Mycena
3) maybe Xeromphalina, check gill attachment and spore print color.
4) Can't see the mushroom well enough
5) Panaeolus papilionaceus or Panaeolus cinctulus.  More pics of more mushrooms in more stages of development would help determine which species you have.

I dont know anything about Gymnopus dryophilus, but I Googled it and it doesn't appear to have any psychoactive value, although it is edible. I also looked at Mycena and it looks like Mycena cyanorrhiza is the only mycena that is psychoactive and I don't think that's what I have.

After looking at pictures of Xeromphalina for #3, I think that looks exactly right.

So #5 is edible and psychoactive either way, correct? Sorry about the lack of pics, I was only there for the weekend.

3 Xeromphalina campanella
4 Helvella
5 could also be Panaeolus antillarum?

No for #5 check the spore print, if it is black and can be positively identified as an active pan, then and only then should you try it. POSITIVE ID before you eat, wouldn't wanna get sick trying to get wise

I challenge you to challenge yourself more! When you feel complacent and ready to hang it up, challenge yourself to get over it! If you fail, don't look at it as you didn't succeed, look at it as you would a rock face you're trying to climb. Stand back, wayyyy back, and look at it and plot another path. If you can't find one, shuffle down the way a little, a little change of scenery or a view from a different angle may give you the insight you need.

Mushroom 1 spore prints didn't show up on white paper, so my best guess is white spore prints.

The prints for #2 were extremely faint and some of the mushrooms got dried out and fell over overnight. I think the prints are brown, but again they are very faint so it's hard to tell for sure.

Spore prints for #5 were most definitely black. I guess that means this was my first successful hunt
