No particular need to fan if your SGFC is built correctly. Spray enough water to really wet the perlite down before you leave, and hope for the best. Some people have filled the top divot of the cakes with wet verm, that's an option.

I'd start with misting and fanning when you get up, heavily, fan without misting just before leaving, and repeat when you get home.

If you want to be lazy look into making a monotub next time.

I'm not calling you lazy. I'm just saying monotubs are a lazy man's best friend. You can be gone all week and then just harvest them if you get the right amount of water in the sub.

That would be too nice, but unfortunately u have to take care of a monotub while pinning and fruiting. You can leave them alone for 11 hours per day without running into problems. I also, mist and fan my mono (to take care that the caps are dry) before i go to work and check them when im back again. Most of the time, it is enough, to mist only once a day, depends on the humidity in the room.
The SGFC is not the best option if you have to leave for 11 hours per day. You have to mist in shorter cycles, like every 4-6 hours.

if there is low humidity in the room, what would be good misting advice to make sure my monotubs don't dry out. i fan a couple times a day. And here is something that happened to me. I initiated FAE but left em in the dark to colonize about 5% or so more and they developed pins in the dark any of you ever hear anything like that before. The tub with the cambodians just exploded while the GT's are lagging a little behind. I experimented a little and used half a quart more water in the gt's because the other tub looked a little dry that could be the cause anyway just seeking advice. thanks
