Yeah no worries. Maybe we could grab some bacon sandwiches on the way?

Seriously guys cmon, why would the police waste so much time trawlling forums trying to entrap someone to go on what would probably be a lenghty day trip or several day trips to eventually find mushrooms only to both collect them, then BAM youre under arrest. Ha! dont be so paranoid people.

You see we don't meet up with random newbies asking to hunt together. Trust is something that's earned on here and in real life.
Best of luck finding shrooms with your friends.
Post photos when you find some.

I tripped last night after visiting my patch for the first time in almost a week, there were heaps but most had gnat larvae inside and were very dry and weathered. the sun certainly gave them a battering but luckily there were enough good ones to have a decent experience from. I can already tell this winter is going to be epic I cant wait for the season peak! Anyone got any good tips for drying though? I mean I've found it a bit cumbersome trying to dry any decent amount without them going off. I will probably construct some sort of drying chamber from a storage container and a few pc fans and a hell of a lot of desiccant. How effective you guys think 600g of desiccant will be in terms of drying? I've bought orange indicating silica (not blue because apparently cobalt is more toxic than whatever is in the orang ones), rest assured I will avoid contact between shroom and desiccant. How do you guys do it?

I'm told desiccant is only for the final stages to draw out every last bit of moisture. I'm told You have to dry them majority of the way infront of a fan or heater, and get them to shrivel and bit and be dry-ish to the touch. Then you either put them in the oven or the dessication chamber to crisp them up. You could jsut dry them from start to finish in the oven also.

does exposure to heat not effect potency? I tried the oven last year but got distracted and burned a whole bunch was very upset at myself. I have a metal locker I could use with a few fans and some spare heating elements I've got that way I can electronically maintain the temp and not run the risk of burning them.

I'm told you set it to the lowest setting possible and make sure the oven door is left either open or a tiny bit ajar. I'm also told you can just put a wooden spoon in the door so there is room for the moisture to escape. The oven is great for drying large ammounts apparently. I don't know. I've never really tried it.

Fan dry in a card board box for 2 days Put the almost crisp dry into DampRid chambers and seal shut Wait 3-4 days and they will be crisp dry Put the crisp dry shrooms into some sealed containers (avoid lunch plastic baggies if stored for longer periods) with desiccant to keep for years.

Thought I would share some of the more interesting finds from hunts over the past 2 weeks.
Please excuse some of the blurry images. Doing my best to get good shots from a little happy snap camera with a macro function. None the less, I still think it does an alright job.

Well last night I decided to try out the shrooms I collected a few days ago (see previous post in this thread). The result was an Intense 8 Hour Mushroom MiNd FuCk!!!
I posted a trip report (link below), including some piccies of prep, although its a bit lengthy, (and entirely a work of fiction naturally):
