Greetings, have always used this as a reference for Psilocybin strains, but upon searching for those guys i am 99% sure i also came across some Amanita Muscaria's. I have read a lot an believe i have ID'd them, as well as a friend, but due to my first experience with these i would rather be safe than sorry and get more opinions. Thanks and appreciated!.
Habitat: Found growing in park under Pine trees. Thick carpet of pine needles (approx 2cm deep), caps growing in 4-5 varied spots (all sprouting from pine needle carpet).
Gills: Open gills, and cream color (white with a soft yellow tinge)
Stem: Stems are approximately 1.5in for smaller mushroom, and up to 2.5in for the larger mushrooms. White in color, and bulbous at the bottom of the mushroom. Thick/solid.
Cap: The fresher mushrooms have the candy-red cap color with varying white spots. The older mushrooms caps color varies a lot more. They are taking on more of an orange color (or a yellow-washed red), or they maintain their red in the center of the cap and the color washes out to orange to the edge of the cap. Some of the older caps starting to turn up-right. Oldest caps have a wrinkly/leather look to them.
Spore print color: White. Unable to see spore print on white paper, but appears on darker color papers (maroon/dark green/black)
Other information: Picked a shopping bag full and instantly a strong mushroom smell emanated from the bag.
Can supply more pics if required.

Yeah, Amanita muscaria. Not sure if you are aware but they do not contain Psilocybin.

Thanks guys for your input as a positive ID. And im aware they do not contain psilocybin.
Drying them as we speak and will then be grounded up.
I have not been able to get a screen to dry them on in the oven. Will this have any significant effect on the change of the ibotenic acid into muscimol? They are currently sitting gills up in glass baking trays (red-tops down). I have it on the lowest heat (100deg C) with the oven door ajar. After about 40 minutes the gills are starting to dry up and only a few of the mushrooms are sweating (the more red-capped Amanita's). If only a few of the mushrooms are sweating and others aren't is this a good/bad sign of the drying process at all?

Alternatively you could dry them on a raised wire mesh or something of the like, until they look/feel/smell dry and then boil them and drink the water. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that that is the safest method.

My experience with Muscara are as follows. I have eaten many of them most of the time with a sedative/hypnotic effect with the exception of the one time I ate them raw. When eating them raw I had two hours of nausea followed by about 4 hours of visions and sporadic muscle failure. Ether way you take them they are very sedative if you take to much you will just crash out.
