Went out for a bit of a bush crash today but only found 2 Aucklandii. First time out there for a long while (few years) so just gotta find an area that isn't so damn overgrown.
Need some serious cold snaps to get the Aucklandii cranking.

yum yum they look juicy Blazer. What will you do with them all?

Will you dry some out and keep em for later?

I ask because I have about 150g fresh shroomies I picked and Im deciding what to do with the excess.

They are the same type bro.. but smaller and dried up ones. the patch was getting abit dry so I thought I should pick them anyways..

And Psyke101 I will be making into capsules and moving them around abit if you know what I mean, and of course testing them out myself

Capsules hey? Do they work alright? What do you do, dry them out, then powder them and pack caps? I might have a go at that.

Might hafta invest. Last year I dried a heap of shrooms in front of a heater, but I didnt end up taking them until probably 7-8 months later and by then they had lost their activity. I ate about 25 dried shrooms with ZERO effect...

This might not be the right thread to start this discussion, but id be keen to hear other ppls ideas about drying them. How long do dried shrooms keep their kick for? Must only be a couple months at most???

ive got some from last year that still pack a punch. you have to store it right. has to be dried 100%. Stored in an area with no light, no heat, no air. i.e. glass jar inside something to block light and kept in a cool area.

if you freeze them in a covered glass jar i imagine they could be kept indefinately.

Ok, i might try freezing a few. See if that works. I probably didnt store mine properly, they certainly werent stored in an air tight container. I had them in a paper mushroom bag from the super market lol... stoopid!!

There's is heaps of ways to store them. One of my favourites is drying  them out a bit and then chopping up and storing in port. Yumm.

In port? Really? Ok... How long do they last when you store them like that? And how do you take them, just kinda fish em out of the jar or something? Or.. drink em lol. Shrooms as an after dinner tipple... I like it.

It's lasts months. I've never kept it longer so don't know. Port oxidizes like wine does when not air tight, so make sure the bottle is full. Without air and with well dried powered shrooms, i don't see any reason why it wouldn't last indefinitely.
You just drink it. The sweet earthy flavour is a nice disguise for the shrooms i reckon.
