Unexplained Disappearance

mine.
some may be wondering about my little break from the shroomery, well it seems my tornado resistant town wasnt so tornado resistant this past week, wednesday morning I awoke to a loud crack, a tree fell about 100 feet from the house, shortly after I got a call from the school, a 60ft oak fell and they lost power, it crushed a few cars in the process, and the whole town was without power, seems there were a few dozen trees down around town, by mid afternoon power was partially restored but later that evening the storm warnings were announced, a supercell had spawned several tornadoes, including an F4 that was a mile wide a few miles from me
My neighbor came over between the tornado warnings to check up on us, he was finding debris from a home and some chicken houses all over his yard, he was amazed that even without power I was able to brew coffee, cook food and function like nothing was happening. the crazy part is that even with all the windows in the house open not one of the candles so much as flickered, all the wind at my house was at tree top level which is about 60 feet
in the aftermath of the storm I wandered the property to find only 3 pieces of sheet metal from the chicken houses had landed in one of the lower pastures, no more fallen trees and no damage, we had almost no rain from it and of course the low winds... now unlike a hurricane, there's no calm eye in a tornado, it's like the whole of the storm just bypassed my house, now my plan is to buy a thousand lottery tickets and then hit vegas because I'm the luckiest fucker in the world
I've been doing a lot of storm clean up the last few days, the city park, a local church and a few folks that cant afford to have a tree service come do the work. a couple of my friends have lost their homes, one was reported to have just disappeared the other was moved from it's foundation, the house is intact but they cant just pick it up and set it back where it was and they dont seem too keen on cutting grass in the kitchen once a week
the cities surrounding me fared far worse than ours did so I dont blame obama for not coming to visit me

Yo, Pris. Don't you go gettin' tornada-ed. I don't think I could troll the board with such ferocity if you were gone.

I'm glad I'm alive too but for some reason I never felt like I was in any danger, a mile wide tornado heading in my direction and wreaking havoc at the end of my road it just didnt seem like it was legit. I wish I could have panicked but I had to keep the kids calm
the fucked up part, after the 2 big warnings we got they announced that they had opened a storm shelter in the city park of anyone wanted to get some place safe I mean just how fucked up is that, tell everyone after the danger to come stay safe in a cave... they closed the cities shelter for some reason... maybe we just dont have enough bad weather to warrant having it

windows are a must, equalize the pressure... we got a report on the radio with the spotty reception that some a guy was moving his kids to their cellar and when he went back for one he watched the wall get pulled off and his son got sucked out into the tornado, about 20 minutes later the kid was knocking on the door completely unharmed... the kid said all he knew was he was pulled out of the house, saw a really bright light and the next thing he knew he was laying in the grass so he walked back home

Yeah stuff like that does seem pretty surreal when it's happening I'm sure. I bet a lot of those folks in Alabama felt about the same until their house started disintegrating around them . I'd freak if I heard there was a tornado that big close to me though.
And lol at opening storm shelters after the storm, I'm sure that made everyone feel real safe.

Not to get off topic here, but Shroomerette, where you been? I guess that is kinda on topic. Nice to see you

some stupid liberal group already said that alabama got hit so hard because they didnt believe in global warming, seems a lot like the godhatesfags bunch but they're obama worshipers, not christians
now explain why there was a series of tornadoes almost this bad in 1935... global warming?

surreal is a good description because it was unlike any other tornado event I'd experienced, I was actually in 2 different buildings the same year that were hit by a tornado and it was very obvious what was going on, I didnt get the hail, the rain or the wind, just lost power and shittier radio reception

Haha yeah it is kinda on topic, nothing storm related though. Been a busy last few weeks for me because I got a temp job out of town and I've been trying to get everything moved out of my apartment whenever I have time. I'm sooooo tired, getting up at 7am kicks my ass. Not to mention lifting and transporting and scrubbing shit. *YAWN*
