it's only a joke because people are able to abuse it by getting medical cards for a condition that's extremely over exagerated or not even there at all.
i live in a medical state and could get my medical card but refuse to because i realize i don't need cannabis medically.
of course we should all be able to smoke legally anyway, but that's not a reason to abuse the medical system at all; if anything abusing the medical system gives the feds even more of an upper hand against our whole movement.

This is my sentiment. I can afford to pay a little bit more for weed that doesn't come from a dispensary. But for those who like to smoke a lot/don't have that much spare cash, it's understandable that they would abuse the system. The system was never fair in the first place.

lol norml couldn't outsmart the government (not surprising) with the "mmj" system.
They're outsmarting the cannabis users though by convincing them we shouldn't get our license without a MEDICAL NECESSITY?
Guys you are misunderstanding this whole thing. It's not like norml(the ones who get medical goin in the first place) only wants dying aids patients to get these licenses, that's why it only takes a 100 dollar visit to a doctor and you get your license.
Then, you don't go to fuckin jail for growing pot. Norml wants this for everyone, the government won't allow it, so we tell them(the government) that their taking meds away from sick people. (if u believe us when we tell them this, you're not the sharpest tool in the shed)
I'm tired of being criticized by a fellow cannabis user for actually doing what norml has fought for me to do which is -not go to fucking prison for growing a couple plants.
If you have a problem with this, then-
Wait I can't say that on this forum. Go to OTD and I'll tell you.

Btw I have plenty of money, and good weed isn't any cheaper in a dispensary than it is "on the street".
I don't have a legal license to grow/possess cannabis to save money?!?!
It's so when I run into a cop or when a cop stumbles across my garden, which has happened multiple times, I don't get arrested. If you think I should have because I don't have aids then there is AOT of work to be done if we expect drugs to ever legalized.

I barely looked at the article, but read this
"Governor Christine Gregoire said she was swayed by a legal opinion issued earlier this month by federal prosecutors threatening to crack down not only on dispensary owners and growers but on state regulators enforcing the proposed law."
Isn't threatening to use ones powers to affect another if they don't follow their orders (or pass the bill they don't want) known as black mail?

Either that or it at least is clear states nor citizens have individual choice to vote/enact laws without federal approval.
This = no state separate from federal and no popular vote.
2 clear principles on which this nation was founded.

This is utter asshattery. Clearly they are only delaying what's inevitable and making it harder on everyone. How can politicians not see this?
Full legalization is definitely going to happen eventually. Might as well cut the bullshit and legalize now. All they're doing is wasting time, money and fucking up innocent peoples' lives. And what about when the smoke clears (herp derp pun) and all the people put behind bars for the herb want compensation for their lost time?

I think that's what they're afraid of. The "shit we were assholes" part of changing an evil law.
