What in Zeus's butthole is on my birdseed? *UPDATE*

Anyone?
There's identical yellow spots in a few jars, all of them on the big, fat round things. Milo I think? Idk. I bought a new kind of bird seeds that came without sunflower seeds and was fortified with vitamins. It's looked like this for several days and isn't spreading to other areas. Even in the same jar there is this:

Any help is greatly appreciated
So, the mycelium in the jar has been spreading nicely, check it out. I believe it is quite 'rhizomorphic' yes? -

And here's what happens when the myc reaches those weird little mutated-yellow-spotted mystery kernels..

You can see it in the top center of the picture. It engulfs the whole thing. Kinda cool

From the cloudiness it could be a small colony of yeast. Then again it could be just a spot that is just a bit more wet than the other kernels. Looks like colonization is coming along well enough.

Is the mycelium in those jars still colonizing? Have they colonized the area where those yellow blobs are?

Looks like bacteria to me. Grain might have been too wet. I see a lot of exploded kernels, which become breeding grounds for contams.
I'm honestly surprised you have any mycelium at all in there. I'm willing to bet the mycelium stalls and won't grow anymore.
Pretty sure thats some type of bacteria.

Colonization is progressing at average speed. It's getting quite close to reaching an identical looking yellow-spot-in-question so I'm anxious to see what happens when it does.
Also worth noting is these big balls that have the yellow things on them were completely absent from the other brand of bird seed I bought. Could it be from the fortification? Like maybe those balls are the source of all the vitamins? shit idk

Only 1 of my 10 jars managed to have colonization. At least it's looking strong. Lol.

First pic would have me concerned all the rest look like super wet grains. With that much moisture most of your jars will most likely fail. You will get it down sooner or later.

^ I think you are right. What is the secret to getting the damn seed dry? I let it sit in the strainer for like 30mins post wash.

I like to keep my WBS on the wet side... I soak 24 hrs, simmer 15-20 mins, strain/rinse and put right into jars... I dont wait for the water to evaporate at all really... I PC for 90 mins @15 psi and inoculate 1-9 days later and never had a contaminated jar. But then that might only work for me

all I know is every time grains left smearing on the glass it didn't work out for me. But that is just me.

it might be dependant on how much LC you use to knock up your jars... What i'm doing by using 5cc's and shaking vigorously, is allowing the myc to touch 100% of the grains and grow out before any bacteria does.
because the jars are on the wet side, I do see the "myc piss" during consolidation, but as long as I leave my jars the normal 3-4 weeks after 100%, the myc takes a perfect hold on the entire jar and seems to be more contam resistant during fruiting. Just IME/IMO
