I am PC'ing 4 quart jars of rye ATM. How many quarts can I innoc with this 1/2 pint jar?:

The jar was an experiment to test an LC for contamination.

Well a 1/2 pt. is 1 cup, and following a 1:4 ratio 8 oz x 4= 32oz or 1 quart Im sure you could stretch it into 2 quarts with 20oz in each, and I think this option makes more sense. GL

You could do as many jars as you want with that, doing GTG.
All you need is 1 grain per jar to spread it. Granted, that would mean slower colonization of the new jars since there would only be one "inoculation" point, but if you are looking to put that egg in as many baskets as possible, then use a very small amount per jar.

I have to agree with Professor Sagan.
Do less jars, and you will see very fast colonization.
In two weeks, and likely less, you will have two quarts with which you can do a 20 or so new jars.
In any case, good luck.

You inoculate with grains at a 1:10 ratio when doing grain to grain transfers. RR

IMO if you trust your methods I would do a GLC. Perhaps a little slower than G2G but you could inoculate more jars with it.

Sorry I missed RR's post but I ended up doing 2 quarts G2G and then did the remaining 2 quarts with an LC of the same strain that has proven clean to date. So now I have:
2 Rye grain quarts (A+ LC) approaching 100% colonization 4 WBS quarts that are early in the colonization process (PE MS) 4 quarts from today- 2 A+ G2G from my 1/2 pint
Kind of a hodgepodge but I'm moving toward some lasagna tray 50/50 coir's. One jar will end up doing a GLC.

1:40 is the most you could stretch it.
The less you use, the more time itll take to colonize.
