Ron Paul is tied with Donald Trump right now as the Republican Nominee as the President Elect I think Ron Paul has more fans than any other Republican Wouldn't it be amazing if in November 2012 we got to chose between Obama and Paul for Presidency?

Im not really following the 'race' at all but tying with trump seems like a good thing. Considering trump seems to be the sara palin of 2012 and that got her pretty far last time.

Aside from legalization and foreign policy, there's not a lot I agree with Ron Paul about. At the same time, though, I think having him in the race can help focus the race on real issues rather than the race-baiting trolling that Trump is engaged in.

Its a shame your presidents are financed into power not elected.

One thing I like about Ron Paul is that he is one of the very, very few politicians who isn't full of shit and he seems to honestly care about people.
Only thing I don't agree with him on is abortion.

"Honestly caring about people" is a bit vague, and his economic policies would have a very negative effect on the working class. However, I will grant that he cares deeply about his principles, no matter how flawed they might be. One thing that has to be said about him is that the guy can't be bought. He believes what he believes and he'll stick to it come hell or high water.

You dont agree with giving states the power for abortion laws? Paul has said that HE PERSONALLY is against abortion, but if he was in power he would let the states decide.

I sure don't. It's a matter of individual liberty, not a matter of the states' ability to tell women what they can do with their bodies. It amazes me how many so-called libertarians think "state rights" trump individual rights. Isn't that just another form of collectivism?

He has a clear shot at the nomination. He is tied with Trump and everyday Trump's popularity diminishes as Paul's increases.

I wasn't aware he was running. I've seen in him in American Drug War and maybe some other docus can't remember right now. He for sure seems intelligent but also more conservative than Paul. The sad fact is the media plays such a huge role I'm not sure if most Americans are educated/informed enough to make a decent decision.

Explain how going back to the gold standard would be bad for the middle class. I don't know if you've notice but our money is worthless and losing value by the second.
"Honestly caring about people" isn't vague. What I mean is that he consistently votes using the constitution as the supreme law of the land, unlike basically every other politician at the federal level.
But whatever. I didn't want to debate. Quote:

No I think it's a non issue. Abortion shouldn't be illegal at any level. Prime example of why church and state should be further separated until there is no connection. I don't give religious idiots the right to my body for any reason.
Sorry if that sounds harsh, but from where I'm sitting all these right-wing neo-cons sound like they would be more at home in Saudi Arabia.

You have to see both sides man, I mean that is a life you're preventing from living. Now don't flame me I'm not religious or nada, I'm just saying it is forsure a valid point. Imo if you can take care of it then you have an obligation to have it as it was you that created it. If you cannot care for it then it's probably unwise to bring it into this planet. However I do agree it should not be illegal, as it is a personal decision, but giving the power to the states is always better than giving it to the federal gov. ALWAYS

Our money is more valuable than just about any other currency except the pound and the Euro. If you think your money is so worthless, I'll be glad to take it off your hands.
As for the gold standard, if you knew a little history or a little economics, you might understand. In 1896, William Jennings Bryan led a presidential campaign specifically against the gold standard, which kept farmers and workers in debt, underpaid, and unemployed as a result of a tight money supply. This was the inspiration for his famous "Cross of Gold" speech. Under the gold standard, we had recessions every 2-3 years. Under such tight money supply, employment is scarce, debt burdens are increased, and the value of people's assets are destroyed.

Propaganda imo, where is the proof that a currency backed by commodity equates to a "recessions every 2-3 years"?
