My mini outdoor greenhouse and 1st shiitake fruits.

I decidedto get a "trial" greenhouse setup to experiment with before I get my hoophouse. This greenhouse was a cheapie, the zipper door wouldnt close, so I made a bigger one with 3mil and velcro.

I dug out some of the inside and lined it with 3mil, tossed in some perlite, bricks, stepping stones, and plastic shelves.

The 1st shiitake blocks that colonized had waytoo many nutrients and caused a lot of mutations. The other blocks i have colonized are pretty standard ratio, so I hope they will turn out better.

The oyster/straw blocks seems to dry out too quick. I also dont think they are suited well to these colder temps. been going from freezing at night to 75 during the day.
I'm trying to figure out some good plants that would do well in here, lmk if you have any ideas!
The reishi blocks in the mid are forming primordia, but not much else yet.

The oysters spawned to some old books that were water damaged and then boiled started fruiting out a small hole in the box that I had them all colonizing in, so I tossed them in the greenhouse this morning.

I plan on making my 1st shiitake soup tomorrow which will be potato and mushroom soup.

Looks nice! Having plants in there is a good idea, oxygen FTW.
Solumvita's question is pretty important though.

for the volume of air you have in you gh you are going to need an automated system of some sort. there are many different ideas, do a search and find some

solumvita : I'm not going to put any electricity to this greenhouse. I am going to work out a method to do it without electricity. I want to grow flower shiitake's and they only grow with fluctuating humidity.
I am going to work towards only growing green, organic, kosher, flower shiitakes.
I decided not to make a the soup yet, and wait for some of the oysters to add into it.
One of the oyster logs are finally growing.

Shiitake mutants

One of the books is growing somecaps now.

Getting a bit of flowering.

These oysters are darker than the ones the fruited earlier in the year.

Invitro shiitake. 2 of my bags started fruiting while I was waiting for it to brown. 1 bag had a 3mil and the other was a 5mil filter. I figured the large fruits would be a good candidate for spore printing. Considering they are virtually contaminate free. They are also more pale. I think this is due to lack of any sunlight. I wonder if it still contains vitamin D?

I decided to put the rest of the shiitake blocks in the greenhouse.

One of them broke while transplanting =-/
I went ahead and put the monotub into the greenhouse too. It's getting late in the year.so I'd like to get some fruits before it gets too cold.

I found I can bring the humidity to optimal by just hosing it down with a garden house

I captured a spider that was caught in the monsoon. Not sure what kind it is.

The reishi weren't really making any progress, and had trich on them, so I moved them outside.

One block has completed. Not a great yield.
But at least they aren't mutated.

A couple of the other blocks are starting to flush. Unfortunately they are not flushing at the same time =-/

The tub block isn't showing any signs of fruiting, should I take it out of the tub?
Criticism always welcome.

The flower form is a result of humidity fluctuation, not simply low humidity. You'd get better fruits while still getting the flowering if you have constant high humidity with short spells of dryness.
