90% finished colonized one pint jar pinned in the jar. Suggestions? 1 cm in length tiny fruit. Tried to take a picture but its just too small.

thats why BRF doesnt go in PINT jars.

i bet it never fully colonizes.

you can birth it and rinse off the uncolonized part under cool running water/

but my guess is: you'll end up GOUGING more BRF out than RINSING it off.

goodluck with whatever you decide to do.

Ok so my recently birthed cake has been sitting on my FC (which is a monotub converted to a shotgun FC with perlite, and has been busy growing alot of new mycelium on its casing layer

Temp is just a bit low because it is early morning, it stays in between 64-73 degrees all day with a 5000k light, room light, and 2 other lights 12 hours on/12 off.

How the entire setup has changed to accommadate for the jar.

So now heres the newest problem, My surviving jars from both inoculation Groups A and B are now themselves beginning to pin invitro

Any suggestions people?? I wont attempt the BRF tek with full pints again, I can see where the problems come from..

This is about how colonized the average Group C (Survivor) jar is

Atleast another 5 days to full colonization, maybe more. Was hoping to save these 5 other jars to use on a monotub but.. who knows. Neeed opinions/suggestions.

Thanks. -M

Yeah I was trying to save the other 5 and use them to spawn to a bulk substrate..

Mods should whine about how 50% of the front page is locked threads. Lame.

Cut them in half, get rid of the uncolonized part. grow them out get fruits, Clone one of the fruits, very easy. then use that to do bulk, IMO then you can just add the clone mycelium into rye jars.

Update:
No fruiting on the cake thats in the FC.. No pins, just alot of fluffy white mycelium growth, I dont know if my RH is high enough, and I dont know how else I could raise it, I used 2 bags of perlite on this thing and mist/fan 5-6 times a day.

Of my other 5 jars, they are all growing quickly, and all but 1 are pinning invitro. One even has an inch long fruit growing horizonally in the jar, but none of them are 100% colonized, although some are very close.

I want to use these last 5 with a half brick of coir to make a monotub, but im not sure if that is the right course to go..

Need suggestions, I have only a few days before I have to go out of town for 4 days or so, and leaving the jars to continue to colonize might not be the best idea..

Seeking wise guidance, please people, help me out.. again..

Thanks,

-M

Yes it is, I guess i have been.. Misting... then fanning.. Damnit. Either way I KNOW the cake is still growing I can see the mycelium contoinueing to grow and even colonize the verm casing..

But what to do about the other jars? Namely this eyesore with an inch long fruit..

First post. Woo!

I think that the white stuff I see in the first picture, just above your thermometer, looks like a cotton ball or cob web mold...

I think it might be part of your fruiting chamber, but I'm unsure..

I'm still not sure of the question.

Are you asking whether you can spawn cakes that are pining? Yes.
Do you need to do something with the jars? No, not immediately.
Is spawning cakes a good idea? No, not really.
Is the uncolonized part contaminated with bacteria? Seems likely.
Can you remove it at birth? Probably.

Ok, So should I let the jars fully consolidate and then use them to spawn to a bulk substrate (as was my initial plan). I dont want to use them as cakes I was aiming for bulk..

What should I do about the fruits that are in the jars? I mean, one is actually getting pretty large and will run out of space in a matter of days.

Ok to spawn tiny pins, ok to eat bigger fruits.
