keurig

I was thinking of purchasing a keurig mini. It only does 8 oz cups instead of the larger keurig that does 6,8, and 10 oz cups. I don't really need to do more than a cup at a time.
Are these machines really worth it?
How is the coffee?
I'm trying to justify the 100$ it costs.

Oh, and good morning!

If it's plain old coffee that you want, spend the $100 and buy a Bunn.

Get a french press and a coffee grinder, and find a local coffee shop that roasts their own beans. You'll spend far less and end up with much better coffee, and you'll be able to get all sorts of different beans from a good coffee shop that aren't flavored artificially.

I'm with this guy, and not solely on a crunchy granola no additives basis.
I've used k-machines before, however, and it's true that they do produce a consistently good cup of joe.
8oz is one cup, like measuring cup. I don't know about you, but my idea of a cup of coffee is a little bigger than that.

Yeah, I second the french press. Bodum makes some really nice ones that'll last you pretty much forever if you take care of 'em. I'd get a cheap stove top espresso maker too. I've got a ten dollar camping model from walmart, but I think Ima buy one of these bialetti's pretty soon.

I have a Keurig as well.
It's bomb.
You can get flavors like "Chocolate Glazed Donut" and "Cinnamon Roll" and tons of other flavors. There is even an empty cartridge where you can put in your own coffee so you don't have to buy all the tiny containers if you don't want to.
It's just quick and easy, you turn it on, in like two minutes it heats up the water, you pop in the container and within three minutes you have a cup of coffee.
I say, go for it.

I picked up the Cuisinart version of the Keurig...brews 6,8,10,12 oz. plus a 4 oz. for iced coffee, and dispenses just hot water for soups, etc. Also has an adaptor for tea or custom blend coffee, and has an adjustable temp. setting for brew temp. Picked it up for under 80 bucks.

Haha, I'm only partially a crunchy granola... My sister roasts coffee for a living and has introduced me to the wonder of fresh beans masterfully roasted to perfection. There's nothing like really good coffee freshly ground and pressed.
I have a cool mug that incorporates a french press, so all I have to do is add the water to the coffee and I can take the whole thing with me, and press it on my way to do something.

I bought the Keurig special edition, that brews the 6,8,10 oz cups, cause it was on sale!
I also bought about 60$ worth of the K-cups. Tried one of the Khalua cups, drank it dark with 3 sugars and it was soooooooo good. It went down smoother than any coffee I have ever drank, and the flavor was nice and rich!
Tomorrow I'm going to add vanilla creamer to it, and try some of my other flavors, such as the 10% Kona.
I also applied for a JCP credit card, got approved for 900$ put the keurig on it, and paid it off. =P
hehe. Now I'll use the credit card once a month to buy K-cups and pay it right off.
<<< feels good man.
