First Grow - PF Tek Mazatapec (Monotub)

Hey Everyone!
I just want to start out by thanking everyone at the Shroomery for all the info, my cat would have never been able to get started on this exciting project!
On March 28th, my cat inoculated 6 jars of BRF with Mazatapec spores.
On April 25th, 3 jars were ready to be dunked for 24hrs and then rolled in vermiculite.
On April 26th, the 3 cakes were put into a monotub.
My cheap digital thermometer in the tub says the temperature stays around 72 degrees and the humidity has been near 99% most of the time.
The tub is in a closet where the light is on 12 hours and off 12 hours.
The cakes have been in the tub for about 3 days now, and I think it looks like there are bumps and maybe pins forming?
The tub is fanned 4 times a day and misted 2 times a day.
My cat and I are just curious, how does everything look so far?
Any advice for a first timer?
Thanks!!

looks good i think youd get much better results using a shotgun FC than the monotub for fruiting these cakes
with a monotub, the only thing really in there is the fruiting substrate. which produces its own humidity and handles its own air exchanging
with the shotgun, you could have a fruiting substrate of any size, and expect to get even humidity throughout because of its design. the holes on the bottom and sides (especially where the perlite is) are essential in causing humidity and air exchange

I agree with just me SGFC is the way to go. Also I'm not trying to criticize but if you are using a monotub why are you misting and fanning? The monotub FC is designed with no maintenance in mind the idea behind the chamber is a set it and forget it thing. This is what I do not like, I prefer to be involved in my grow. Also why let co2 build up and deprive them of fresh air when the fruit bodies would grow better with fanning. Its gonna be hard to get myself off this cake fix lol.

mroy, thats true about the mono, but the mono has one fruiting body in it. hence the name
the way he has it set up, misting and fanning is still necessary.
i imagine it would take a mono completely filled with cakes for it to actuall work like a monotub

I apologize for my lack of knowledge. The only information I had to go off of was one thread logging a full colonization and fruiting cycle without any mechanization or human interaction. Ill try to find the link just because it is pretty cool.
Again I'm sorry about that but thats what I'm here for is to learn. I feel like I already know about a whole different world and I have only been growing for 10 days its amazing how much I have actually learned in these 10 days.
Although I have been researching it for the past year (unfortunately not very actively) Now I cant stay away from this stuff there is just so much information on this site. And I want to know it all lol.
Thank you for not only correcting me but for telling me why my logic was flawed. I respect that, unlike some jerks that just tell you how there right and everyone else is wrong. ha ha
Heres that link.

I'm sure most of you have seen it already but if not its really a good read.

mroy! no worries man. no harm done, thats for sure. we're all here to learn...some ppl want to learn mush cult, some ppl want to learn how to be a better asshole
some ppl like being dicks i just like growing and eating mushrooms
im not on the webz to pick fights with old ladies and cripples, and who can tell who is one. so i try not to fight
what youve learned in the last 10 days...catalog it. then a year from now, go back and see how much of it youve put your own spin on, and how much of the "great advice" ^^^ youve been given is total horse shit...and dakine horse shit you cant cultivate with...like nasty urinated stable shaving shit

Ha ha I like your style. That is a brilliant idea about cataloging stuff I would have never thought of that.
I haven't even completely colonized my first PF cakes yet and I'm already trying to teach myself about grains and casings and LC And all that fun stuff. Although a lot of it sounds like unnecessary hype to me.
Improving yield is what I'm after in the long run. As well as healthy, strong, contaminate free mycelium that produce beautiful, potent fruit bodies. lol

its all in the name of science!!!
at least thats what they tell me
its always fun/important to go back and check your studies and findings
its how you grow in your hobbies
improving yeild will be done by mastering the cakes and fruiting mushrooms, and making the switch to bulk

Thanks for all the input so far everyone!
Are you guys suggesting to use a SGFC because the tub only has 3 cakes in it?
There will be 3 more cakes in there shortly, they have just been colonizing slower than their brothers.
The Monotub FC was chosen because the original plan was to case the cakes, but then decided not to for the first attempt.
Also, could someone elaborate on why perlite doesn't work as the humidity source for a Monotub?
Thanks again for all the advice everyone.
I think I'm starting to see my first pins today!

it just doesnt work as well as it does as the humidity source in a SGFC
air needs to flow through the perlite. not just over it. to achieve best results.
