Just got home from 5th successful psub hunt for season thinking enough is enough and not to be greedy. When pulling into driving way noticed a yellow clump protruding from fence. Looked closer to find these. Had noticed similar pictures on site stating Gyms. Never found Gyms before so completely unsure. Although protruding under fence they are growing out of a cut tree trunk on the other side. Only picked the top cap from the bunch. Smell slightly fruity almost apricot. Can someone please ID them ?
Spore print will be a few hours away I suspect but early signs are yellow. Will post when its done.

Sure look like gymnopilus to me! Couldn't tell you which though, I'm sure a gym expert will be along shortly.

Gymnopilus junonius, generally not considered active in Australia. If they bruise green/blue you might be in luck. If you're desperate you could try them, they are bitter as hell though, and you have to eat a lot. The spore print with be a thick rusty orange.
