Psilocybe Atlantis.
    #14372993 - 04/29/11 02:42 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

First time visiting some of my Atlantis patches this year. Just found a couple so far but with these I found a good bit of pins coming up that will be ready to pick in a day or two.

I'll post some habitat pics when I go back.

You think you could some size comparison in a pic? I want to know how big these buggers are. Also, that's some puuuuuurty bruising.

:billymaythumbup: Better find than mine, that's for sure!

Sorry, thought I put one in there.

they are pretty small. Caps are a little bigger than a penny on these two.

Man they're little buggers! I'll start looking on local grass more. It's amazing what this state yields ...

EDIT: Seriously, in a North-Northwest direction, we're only two counties apart ...

This is the habitat I find them in. Used to find more but they don't cut the trail anymore so their very hard to find.

Looking at the nearby trees, I'm seeing nothing but sweetgum and pines.

Looks like any number of places around here. Thanks for the info and I'll be keeping my eyes peeled.

They like long grass which is where i find most of them. The stipes can get 7 to 10 inches long sometimes competing with the grass.

Awesome Finds! Hunting in long grass is definitely a slow, patient game.

THIS. Those Pan olivaceus like to do the same stem thing except they only get 3-6 inches. They get some funky patterns in those stem bases.

And yes it takes much patience to do that. Hey phishhead, if you ever need an extra hand, just shoot me a :pm:. My camera is your camera, man.
