My first Ovoid project, advice for woodlovers please!

Our outdoor ovoid patch in SE Ohio did really well this year. We harvested around 6 dry ounces once we found them, which was admitidly late. Anyhow, the patch has not produced any more fruits. So tonite, I went to the patch and took a large portion of mycelium. (If you look closely at the photo you'll see some tiny blue aborts that grew down in the mulch).
 Mycelium
I put a layer of wood chips on the bottom of a bucket, and then placed the mycelium on top of those woodchips....
 This is my bucket full...
I brought the bucket home, and covered the mycelium with about a 2-3 inch layer of new woodchips then lightly watered it....
Bucket with wood chips on top of mycelium...
Now the bucket is sitting out on my deck, lightly covered with a plastic bag, with a hole so air can get in. What exactly is my next step in preserving this. Will the mushrooms actually grow in the bucket,(is it possible to obtain another flush from this mycelium)? Or, will I have to wait untill Fall, then set the bucket somewhere appropriate, or will I need to spread it about and bury it with woodchips? Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated, I have quite a "green" thumb (you get me, Im sure), but this is my first forray into mushroom preservation/cultivation. Thank you all in advance, The Black Metal Mushroom Hunter

Take a large portion of fresh wood and replensih the outdoor patch...put some drain holes in the bottom of that porch bucket too. Actually looks pretty good to me?

Went back down to the outdoor spot, and "fed" it some new , fresh woodchips. Also, spread some on some of the smaller patches around the main one. The bucket on the porch is already beginning to show mycelium growth, is it common for it to spread that fast? Im going to actually have to add another couple inches of fresh wood to it soon. Thanks for your advice, i also got some drainage holes in the bottom of the bucket, so I guess its a wait till Fall..lol! Thanks again!

hey man thats a cool idea! let me know how that works out with the fresh wood chips
with my experience with ovoids over the last ten years is that they like decaying rotting wood, I would say take some twigs, pieces of rotten logs and leaves to that spot.... and DEFINITELY make sure that the myceleum isn't exposed to direct or heavy sunlight... otherwise it gets cooked
post some more pics of that bucket
