I wrote this in that other post and thought that I might post it in a more cheery context...
As for immortality, how about a few simple (or not so simple) guidlines to abide by in your daily life. Who knows? Perhaps the sun will set and rise again, set and rise again, now and forever... (surely these thoughts are not my own-- Tom Robbins' advice)
1) Earth- Food comes from the earth- eat right! Beets seem to be the food of choice. Yup, that's right! Good 'ol Mangel Wurzel. Blood red and beautiful, boosts the immune system...
2) Wind- Wind as in breath. Many people either use too much or too little air- poor breathing habits introduce an abbundance of carcinogens and oxidants in the blood, not too mention an inconsistent oxygen supply to feed the blood. Circular breath! Read up on it in the various didjeridoo posts 'round here...
3) Water- Bath as often as possible. By soaking for half an hour in hot water, the blood rises to the skin surface. By air drying for a half hour, the blood is rapidly cooled to a few degrees below 98.6... Why is this good? Them white blood cells are like the police when operating under normal conditions; they're trigger happy! They hurt the bad stuff and the good stuff! When yer blood is cool, they only act on the real threatening stuff... Repeat as necessary.
4) Fire- Sex!!! Fool the body into staying young by shagging like a couple of eighteen year old bunny rabbits! Tap into God several times a day...
Also, and perhaps most important of all, one should be as cheery as possible, and stick up for what is just and right (you'll be able to feel it in the pit o' yer soul ) Keep yer head up and don't give in to a cowards way of existence; depression, anger, self loathing, loathing of others, etc... Just love it all! Love it! And love yer self!
This has been brought to you by the selfishly self proclaimed self help server of selflessness... eh... Oh yeah, read Jitterbug Perfume for more on this, and a fantastic love story spanning a millinium...

An addition to 1) Earth.... One feels more connected and respectful of the ground beneath us if they grow their food themselves, right in the backyard. No automatic tillers or water systems, either, that's the American Materialistic Laziness at work. Get out the old fucking hose and hoe!
(Mmmm.... homegrown sweetcorn.. lettuce... carrots... watermelon...potatoes...and, so we don't forget some of the other necessities...homegrown marijuana!) Peace.

Get out the old fucking hose and hoe!"
Will a pair of torn black fishnets do the trick?

To tell the truth I am far from understanding exactly how one achieves this; While playing the didg it is easy enough, but I don't think that this is quite the same method that the characters in the book were supposed to have mastered. Would be nice if it was possible...

I can only seem to do this when I'm chokin a bong, bowl, blunt, etc... I fill my mouth up with smoke, then allow the smoke to enter my lungs and continue to fill up my mouth while I exhale whats in my lungs. Then I inhale whats in my mouth and its cyclic.
