substrare right on top of perlite?
    #1436976 - 04/07/03 07:42 PM (14 years, 26 days ago)

a friend was wondering about crumbling brf/verm cakes and putting them directly on top of perlite that sits in the bottom of a bin with no buffer between? would this work? should he sterilize perlite before putting in chamber? how damp should it be ? how often should he mist casing ? perlite? planning on fanning every two hours. keeping temp around 74 rh trying for 95 . has mexican, eq, b+, kosa, strains. plans on using 50/50 for casing, verm/peat moss. wondering if he should take small sticks out of peat moss and add anything else to casing mix (oyster shell) what difference would adding oyster shell? cant seem to find it where he lives? thanks everything i know comes from you

no! don't take the chance on wasting your cakes
do it just like it says in the faq
yes pick most of the twigs out
oyster shell is good if you can find it if not don't worry
balance out the ph with some hydrated lime
check the ph so you know what it is

at least thats what kramer says
