Yeah but on the flip side its not uncommon to wait 2 years to buy a new car in Venezuela and used cars cost more than new ones

Almost €1.80/liter here in Holland

3.79 liters/US gallon

1 Euro = 1.48600 U.S. dollars (right now)

You do the math.

Most expensive in the world no? I don't imagine people drive too much if they don't have to.

Its 4.50ish a gallon in chicago, Glad my car is a pair of doc martins :dancer:.

Move to a city and take public transit people, or bike.

Funnily, they have a great sense of humor here, driving the bus is more expensive than driving your car, to save the environment.

If all people who had a car would drive one morning, the whole country would be one big traffic jam.

The public transit is for sure cheaper then driving here. Especially when you factor in parking. (2.25 a ride .25 cent transfers or 5.75 for a 24 hour unlimited pass)

To park downtown on a meter its around 5 bucks for 20 minutes.
parking garages are 20-50 a day. There are people who spend 1000 a month to rent spots down town.

When I first moved here and had a car I had to buy special stickers to park in the city 165 a year. Just to park in the street.

Landlord wanted an extra 50 a month for me to use the garage....

Our parking enforcement was sold off by our out going mayor to a private company,
parking rates went up 200 percent downtown and they eliminated free days.
Also parking infractions have tripled.... All that money goes to a private corp now.

Chicago is the city of pay to play  :picard::facepalm:

I have to laugh at using a polluting fuel when we can use water solar and eco conversion to hydrogen and combust it back to water   We don't even need to use hydrogen or cars at all if we actually built a sustainable environment.

Those greedy humans and their energy monopolies.  When presented with the option we choose our own destruction for the sake of greed and control instead of sustainable living.
