    #14368360 - 04/28/11 05:42 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

has anyone had these done? what was the outcome? i have never had them done but my BF had both an M.R.I & an E.E.G because of a seizure that he recently had. and they both came back abnormal. something about the white matter.. so the neurologist is meeting with the radiologist to review the slides. im just acting like everythings fine but i worry when i think about it. anyone know what this could mean?

I suppose MRI is magnetic resonance imaging and EEG is electroencephalogram (as I said Im not sure)

MRI provides spatial information about your body and usually relies on the properties of 1H isotopes for imaging. It physically shows if there are morphological abnormalities whereas EEG gives indication of physiological status of the brain ie what kinda brain waves are there. So coupling morphological with physiological analysis sounds rather rational when one wants to know more about the pathology of an unexplained seizure.

Can you provide more details about it. Ask the doctor for specific things like what exactly on the white matter.

Could mean almost anything. That "white matter" comment in particular could be a lot of things, from a harmless little cyst to peri-ventricular leukomalacia.

You make it all possible. Doesn't it feel good?
