They arrived

Hi, I've decided to grow some GT's and need some advice. I've been on this forum researching for a couple months and after finding a reliable vendor I ordered some spores and decided to join the forum. Now I don't have a pressure cooker and was wondering if it would be okay to sterilise the pots in boiling water and then after wipe them down with some pure alcohol. I know sterilising is supposed to be the key to get a successful yield. So could someone please tell me if I'm on the right track? Thanks P.s I know this question may of come up already but I wanted to know if it would be better to sterilise with boiling water then alcohol after.

if your doing pf tek yes you can but boil for atleast 90 minutes. I personally didnt have good success with it. If you using rye or wbs you MUST use PC. If your going to do this hobby for a while just buy a P.C. and get atleast a 20 quart.

I boiled my jars for about an hour and have had 100% success. Be sterile with you inoculation procedures and you should be golden.

Thank you very much, this tutorial is exactly what i was looking for. A few questions though. On the syringe it is numbered 1-10 how many cc's would one jar require? is it vital i use a glovebox and do i need to tape over the holes until i inoculate the jars? Thanks

No more than 1mL per jar, even split. Glovebox is pretty much optional. You don't have to tape before you boil if the foil is nice and snug. Also no need to tape after you shoot, though some people do.
But do it like the videos. Do it EXACTLY like the videos

Dribble in just enough liquid to see it run down the side of the jar. If you are deft enough to use less than 0.25, that's great.
Shake well first!

Cheers man, another thing is how many Gts would I expect to get off one cake? and any idea roughly on what the weight of one of them dried and wet would be?

Yield can be anywhere from zero to half an ounce per cake, sometimes more. Buy a scale.

MS keeps you guessing untill u harvest. If you get 20 grams wet, it will end up about 2 grams dry.

You can use up to 4ml per half pint. If you're going to tape them afterward, use micropore or use masking and remove it after 30%.

just use 1ml per jar...its good to not overdo it cuz you can fuck up the moisture content and you want to make the syringe last.
as for the per cake weight...i think my first flush came out to about 1/2 oz dry and that was 4 cakes.. yours might be bigger, or it might be smaller...but you should get at least a quarter oz dry from each cake by the time they are spent (ie. after all the flushes)... just make sure your shotgun FC is to standard (read up on it here somewhere) and remember to mist and fan.
