Its possible, and likely, for the Japanese radiation to leave the earth entirely and travel on to other solar systems and galaxies.

Some how, I doubt that.

Sodium/potassium Iodide and Mrs Stewart's Bluing Can keep the harmful radioactive isotopes from binding in your thyroid

Japan Nuclear Blast Radiations March 14, 2011 by Master Cai 4 Comments
The USA Warship has detected Radiation from the Japan Nuclear Blast yesterday. Read below link for details.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12733393
Since our groups study Diseases as well as Toxicity, we have received some information regarding on how to protect yourself from this Nuclear Radiations.
The Chemical that could help on this Nuclear Radiation is called as
โPrussian blueโ The USA Defense has a stock pile of this chemical to counter any chemical disaster. For further knowledge of this chemical, please read on Wiki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prussian_blue
Here below will tell you where is this chemical was being use by us most of the timeโฆ
The name of the Brands called โMrs. Stewartโs ยฎ Bluing -Standard of Excellence since 1883โณ it is a Laundry Whitener.

Why?
Because other solar systems and galaxies are a long way away. And the radiation emitted is probably negligable compared to various sources of radiation throughout the cosmos.

It's going to contaminate the water supply and in turn transfer to all the bud plants. Then Cali will be known for that "glow" weed. Good luck stashing that sack.

Negligible sure, but that is not what the OP is wondering about. Considering the magnitude of radiation in Japan, some of it will surely find its way to the solar system and beyond. Some of it will surely find its way to California and to you. But of course, fear mongers arn't as much interested in negligible levels then they are in sensational possibilities. (which was what my original post tried unsuccessfully to elicit)
