Look What My Father Brought Home for Me
    #14367582 - 04/28/11 03:24 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Habitat:
Rotting post. Most likely coniferous, specifically as species of Pinus. Growing right off from the ground in a well humidified hole.

Gills:
Orange
Stem:
1cm thick, fibrous

Cap:
flat, if not growing funky, it'd be about 3 inches wide
Spore print color:
Probably rusty orange

Bruising:
Haven't bruised it; gonna water it.

Other information:
Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

When my parents busted me smoking the first time, they dumped my stuff down the toilet and threatened me with arrest. Since then, things have mellowed out and now he's helping me with my "biology project."

Seriously though, God made Cannabis just as much as he made the rest of the Garden of Eden imo. Hopefully your parents will end up like Pat Robertson and come to their senses.

Haha, so he doesn't know that you're trying to find actives?

& True. But their counter-argument to that is "He also made rattlesnakes, I dare you try to pick one up and smoke it."

Nope. He'd probably be kind of angry if I told him. He's pretty cool now, but still he wouldn't be happy.

My response to your parents is, "Ask the snake-handling Holiness Pentecostals what they think. They handle serpents in the name of the Lord, not in defiance."

Since I don't live in Australia, I would think so. Also, now that I think of it, the reason why I never consumed any Pans was cause I've not found enough for a dose. I like the thrill of the find.

Gymnopilus luteofolius perhaps, judging by the cap size and habitat, just a educated guess, correct me if I'm wrong!

don't see anything standing out that points to gym luteofolius:shrug: maybe except its orangish colors??? -- - more pics are DEF in need for a correct id here - spore prints TOO:thumbup:

My big thing - - - - there are NO bruised pinners in the pics???
No annular zone or remenants on the cap either????

Ausi things are WAY diff than out here but i WOULD NOT call those gyms without some GOOD clear proof:thumbup:

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. The location of these specimens is the eastern US, GA speccifically so that's one important piece of information.

Two, I think the color is rusty orange due to the difference of coloration on the gills. Also, where did I say I was going to eat them? Seriously, man ...

Also, I know it may be something similar to a Tricholomopsis as well and I'll get better pics in the morning of the pileus.

EDIT: Nevermind, the spore print for Tricholomopsis is white. I'm thinking these are some sort of Gym. Again, I have no intention of eating them.

Good call Wisco, i was taking a pot shot because of the fact they were growing directly out of wood and the colour

Haha yeah understandably, we get shitty Gymnopilus junonius out here.

Best just to wait for a TI imo.

sorry man i def read something wrong n thought this was found in australia:crazy2: don't kno how that came about:confused:

Anyhow - without some more pics - id still be VERY skeptical they are indeed gymnopolis luteofolius .........- it could be - but nothing in the pics besides common color points towards any kind of gym

And in my confusion man i thought i read above that someone was telling you to eat them - - -- not trying to be difficult just trying to make sure you don't end up eating something you could regret or worse!!!!
