I get pissy about the littlest of things
    #14363575 - 04/27/11 09:03 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

I do not know if i should attribute it to my self diagnosed ADHD. It has lead me to be quite the annoying bastard in the family, i get annoyed at so many things when i shouldnt really. Although ive noticed that when im stoned this usually goes away.

I have a similar issue, actually. Bigger things don't seem to bother me as much, though. It's weird.

Give yourself a mental slap or hell a physical slap every time you find yourself pissed off about something dumb... you aren't completely at the mercy of your brains whims ya know :awesome:

I daydream all the time which has made me do horrible in school since i cant pay attention unless im interested in it, the daydreaming has gotten so intense that i tend to isolate myself to take time to do it. And a few more things. The thought of maybe just being a dick sure brings a different perspective.

 I day dream a shit ton too, and for some people it is harder to concentrate than others but you shouldn't just shluff it off as ADHD and call it good... You have the ability to really focus on anything no matter how boring - concentration itself, like anything else is a skill that you can hone with practice.

My father has ADHD and is a real hot head for silly things.  But, I am a product of my environment.  I too find myself blowing up over little things all the time, but feeling immediate regret after doing so.  I even feel guilt, its honestly stressing me out.  I have extreme anxiety from it (and a mixture of other things)

I refuse to get meds. Its just your mind, I feel you can condition yourself to control it.  I am much calmer then my dad, but not as calm as the normal person if that makes it easier to understand.

Kinda feels bad man, but im also a very funny person, and I figure I wouldn't be as edgy without that personality attribute.  Adapt, live, adapt.

One thing I've learned growing up. There is no such thing as too sensitive. You don't really have much control over your emotions. You have control over your ACTIONS for sure, but not your emotions.

I read one Buddhist text that has a good way of dealing with it. Emotions come and go, but they are NOT you. They cannot control you. They are there for sure, don't deny that they are there. One way to head towards depression FAST is to pretend like you're fine with something that you're pissed off about. Even if it's the smallest thing in the world, if it upsets you, it IS a big deal. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TOO SENSITIVE, PERIOD.

Now you don't have to act on every emotion, but just acknowledge them. Also, when anger comes, treat it like a person. "Hi anger, nice to see you today" Distance yourself from the emotion, but don't pretend like it's not there.

Give each emotion a personality, talk to them, distance yourself from them. They are not you nor can they control you, but they are there.
