Not a bad choice Coaster, given Adam, Eve, Ariadne etc:

Quote:

In Greek mythology Europa (Greek Ευρώπη Eurṓpē) was a Phoenician woman of high lineage, from whom the name of the continent Europe has ultimately been taken. The name Europa occurs in Hesiod's long list of daughters of primordial Oceanus and Tethys.[1] The story of her abduction by Zeus in the form of a white bull was a Cretan story; as Kerényi points out "most of the love-stories concerning Zeus originated from more ancient tales describing his marriages with goddesses. This can especially be said of the story of Europa".[2]

The daughter of the earth-giant Tityas and mother of Euphemus by Poseidon was also named Europa.

Europa's earliest literary reference is in the Iliad, which is commonly dated to the 8th century BCE.[3] Another early reference to her is in a fragment of the Hesiodic Catalogue of Women, discovered at Oxyrhyncus.[4] The earliest vase-painting securely identifiable as Europa, dates from mid-7th century BCE.[5]

more

And then there is Europa, the moon of Jupiter:

I myself stated a meme many years ago that went

Blotter + Bitter = Spitter

To discern RC blotters from LSD blotters. Variations thereon ("if a blotter is bitter its a spitter") spread like absolute wildfire and people were even posting it back to the Shroomery from having heard it in the offline world.

What makes me laugh about this thread is that he submitted the information to the largest, most well-known drug database in the world (or at least the US) which has already made probably a hundred appearances on the news, they accepted the information, and then the news used the information.

I mean it's kinda cool they used your term, but it's sort of like putting a cupcake in the microwave, and then going back the next day and high fiving yourself because there's a cupcake in your microwave.

wowww oh my goodness I am so tripped out right now
ok so a few years ago I decided to create a slang word that I wanted to catch on
and I liked 2ce and there was no slang for it
so I decided to push the word "Europa" on it
and I even got it published on Erowid
and now that this guy died on 2ce it finally broke headlines
on LAWeekly news the headline reads
Quote:

2C-E: Psychedelic Drug 'Europa,' Invented by Californian Sasha Shulgin, Makes a Dangerous Comeback

Okay and thats not even the craziest darkest part
the gnarliest part of that article is that it talks about this guy dieing from 2ce and they call it Europa
and it shows a picture of Shulgin
BUT it ALSO shows a picture of 10 Europa pills that are MY PILLS!!!
so they are talking about how deadly Europa is
using MY slang and MY image of MY pills
dood wtf this stuff is crazy we live in a small world

dude, you should do something productive with your time like reading a book.

helping an old lady across the street or doing some volunteer work.

and if he says meth is healthier for you than joining the military, then he's probably right.

No its more akin to someone submitting a word in the dictionary and then you hearing people using that word two years later.
I seeded the slang, and then two years later it was on headline news.
